Derogatory gaming slang. Applies to pretty much any competitive game nowadays. You’re gonna hear it no matter what game you play, just cause of the younger fan-base always being a mainly negative aspect of a franchise in the eyes of everyone else. And as someone who’s been playing this series since they were 5 years old, I can’t blame them for thinking so. I would’ve been the exact same way. Thank God I didn’t have online capabilities back then.
Yeah nobodies ever on mic in Halo 5…Now back in the Halo 2 and 3 days!!! forget about it!! always someone to chat with and make friends to play with…nobody talks much nowdays. it kinda sucks.
Trash talk I guess. I am also a suspect of doing it. Trash talk has always been a thing in competitive Halo.

Im 12 too why can’t kids play halo?
The age to buy it is 13 Apparently lol Thats why kids cant play…well little kids anyway.
People have giveen the term kid into a derogatory meaning. I am 50 years old, so I love being called it.

It’s hilarious. I’m nearly 40 and I would gather I’m much older than most of my opponents, and by quite a bit. I just love when a sweaty teenager calls me a kid.
I say kid alot, its more of an expression rather than an insult. Im never really on mic alot but i say it IRL too. Its just perceived that you are younger if you play video games but im in my 20s so i wouldent say im a kid. hahaha i just take it as online lingo, i never meant it to offend of belittle another Player
The term “kid” is not meant to be derogatory or used to pick on younger players. Its just gamer lingo. I use it all the time to refer to another player, it’s a lot like when someone says “look at this random on our team”, you could also say “look at this kid on our team”. Hopefully no soft snowflakes find these terms offensive because I’ve heard the terms tossed around with compliments as well as insults.
For example “These kids have mad skills, bro we gotta pick it up!”

because people assume that only kids do annoying things.

I know how to quote i just dident that time. its not a big deal bruhh
I think the term “kid” is just a quick insult to say to someone who is not preforming well. It usually refers to the stereotypical kid who just got the game as a birthday present or something and hasn’t picked up on what to do yet, has a small youngens voice, and just generally isn’t that good at anything in the game.

It’s just helpful because it gives people a notification that you had something to say after their comment. Also, your forum rank is recruit so I didn’t know if you knew about the ability of quoting people. I just tell it to all the recruit posters so that they can have a better time sharing and giving opinions on the Halo franchise here on Waypoint.

I believe age is just a number. A real sign of becoming a “big boy” is how well you can handle “big boy” problems, as well as how you go about conversing with other people on the internet.

Ive met people who ive been better than at halo 5 and I dont get to play but like 4 days a month because that’s the only time i go to my dads
It sucks because it takes away from good communication. Like i start my own xbox party just to mute out everyone.
