Why is everyone hating on sprint ??

I come on the fourms and all I see is hate on the sprint???.

sprint has been in halo for 6 years since halo reach…and bungie were the ones that added sprint into halo

so what’s the hate on it…imo I think Spartans should sprint, let’s face it you have these cool amours and shield and all this tech…but you can’t sprint

And let’s face it the reason sprint wasn’t in halo 1-2 was probably they didn’t have the resources.

So honestly what has caused this outburst on the hate on sprint

Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 didn’t have sprint because it wasn’t due to resources. It was because nearly 90% of all FPS games didn’t have it at the time. COD came in and implemented the feature and now nearly every FPS has sprint in it. It’s a trend thing, not a resource thing.

It’s a mechanic that doesn’t give it that halo feel that the majority of people who grew up playing have. You have the 3 classics that didn’t have sprint and were FPS monsters everyone loved. Then you have Reach, 4, and 5 that are considered craptastic and they all have sprint. Reach had a good campaign and some neat features. Core gameplay wise, it blew.

Sometimes a good game is when there are less “cool” things and more simple things.

By resources I did mean by FPS not having it at that time

but what a lot of people fail to understand is that bungie was the ones that added sprint in…sure halo reach wasn’t the greatest but still, they were the ones that added it in first

and sprint isn’t going anywhere tbf it will be in halo 6 for sure

I’m not surprised people started hating on it, someone or some group of people have found anything in this game to pick apart.
I think it is all just natural progression of where the game or the genre was heading. Every play Tony Hawk in the early days when you always had to stay on the skateboard? Then they finally let you off and could walk around. If you ever went back to an old game, it was like how can you play like this? That’s how I feel now when I go back and try to sprint but can’t on the Halo games where you couldn’t. How did we ever get by without it?

If you took the time to actually read one of the million threads on sprint, instead of adding to the clutter, you’d find your answer.

It makes the game feel even more apart from the classic Halo’s, I think it’s really unnecessary because it is just an illusion anyways.

Judging from the numbers of H3 when compared to the numbers of H5 it looms
like we got by without it just fine
Got by without it wonderfully actually
back during the days when halo could actually hold a population because of its gameplay
