Why is everyone AWFUL

Just really wanna know why EVERY SINGLE GAME there are level 140s that are -Yoink-. Pisses me off its -Yoinking!- annoying i know im not the best player in the world but it seems as if i’m the only one with a -Yoinking!- brain

This is the part where I would make a sarcastic point mocking your rage at a video game.

But I know too well H5 is far from perfect. So here’s my advise:

If playing competitively is all you do, then unless youre playing with a squad or friends, youre going to have to roll the dice with randos. If you get overheated, just do what I do and show off in Infection or warzone firefight for a few matches

Yeah i’ll do that from now on. I just don’t have any friends who play halo so i cant really do much.

What does 140 have to do with anything? Its a measurement of time played, not skill.

I know my friend, but you would think they wouldn’t be as brain dead as they are in these games as they have clearly spent a -Yoink- ton of time on the game.

Well considering SR has nothing to do with skill is a start. You gain SR no matter what skill level you are.

Yeah, I’m rank 147, but because I got this rank from almost nothing but firefight, I’m terrible at anything competitive in Halo 5. This was painfully apparent when my friend dragged me into the Halo 3 throwback playlist. I’m truly sorry if you were on my team

Well, I’m SR 150 if that tilts you even more :^)

But really, stop complaining about SR. It’s just a level, nothing more. Not all of us are tryhards/active H5 players. (hell, I stopped playing H5 weeks after I hit SR 150)
We just want to enjoy the game, nothing more. That’s all most of us ask for nowadays.

The old saying goes: don’t judge a book by its cover. While it is true that those with a higher SR level are very skilled at the game, it doesn’t mean they’re being rude or something. Rather, they can be extremely chill and playful like the rest of us. And just like DerpsterTheNoob, I’m also SR 150 but I don’t really consider myself a tryhard / competitive player.

In all, you should the enjoy the game for whatever it offers. Don’t be put off by higher-level players in the long run.

Why do I get the impression that you’re the guy that screams at your teammates throughout the entire game.

If you’re concerned about it, then try to hang around them more during the game and help them shoot enemies so they don’t die as much.

There are terrible players of all SRs in this game. And I would say that a big part of the problem is an incredibly wide skill gap that makes “getting better” a progressively steeper hill to climb. So steep, in fact, that some players stop trying to improve because improvement beyond a certain point is not possible - but more importantly, this game is very, very bad at helping a player understand the path to improvement. The only way I can see for me, as an example, to become a better player is to a) figure out how to slow down time or b) get more accurate with weapons which are patently impossible to aim in the first place. And once a player has given up on the idea of improvement as a reason for playing then you end up with a pretty substantial player base that behaves in the ways you’re describing. All the competitive players wanted a game with a crazy skill gap and didn’t really stop to think about the many and varied downsides of that situation. Well, here’s one of them.

I’m a solo player (99% of the time). Yeah, playing alone can be maddening, especially against other pre-made teams.

But really, it’s not that big of a deal. If the game truly makes you this upset, perhaps it’s time to move on.

Someone is trying to provoke the ban hammer. OP, you shouldn’t curse so much when posting, my friend. Expand your vocabulary and find words that can express your frustrations without saying “yoink”, “yoinking”, “yoink yoink”, “mother yoinker”, “yoinking piece of yoinks”, “yoink flippity yoink”…

Oh and for your FYI, I actually typed the word “y o i n k”…

Cheers.

While technically true, let’s not pretend that someone who may be passed 100 had played more hours and had time spent sharpening their skills than someone who, say, is SR1-10 or something.

Not really?. Banhammer for swearing only relates to bypassing the swear filter (or using racist terms). saying -Yoink- or -Yoink- in censorship out of frustration is fine here.
Hell, awhile ago there was a thread asking people what they shout when they get mad, and spoilers, damn it was high on the list.

I don’t know what game mode you’re talking about (or in general), but my advice is to take full advantage of this and play infection and FFA. If you prefer team sports and don’t have many buddies, you can try teaming with a random online that’s decent. Just invite them to your ft after a match and see it they’re willing. Most of the time, if you’re good enough, they’ll accept and you’ll have at least one reliable person on your team

Don’t confuse XP with skill. FFA is your friend
