This is a serious question. It seems everybody here is really exited for Spartan-ops, and doesn’t care about the fact that Firefight wont be in halo 4. You will all probably say “Fire fight isn’t challenging at all”, but it is still fun. I also wanted to point out that nobody here has played a single spartan ops mission, but continues to say it will be amazing. For all we know, Spartan-ops could be just as boring as the spec-ops from MW2.
Spartan-Ops is like more Campaign, I would rather have more campaign that is released in seasons than firefight which is literally kill enemies until you lose all of your lives or until the time runs out. Firefight was REALLY boring IMO.
Firefight with story(Halo 4) > Mindless Firefight (Halo Reach)
Although I do miss Halo 3ODST’S Firefight
FF is boring when it is all arcade. And besides SP is apart of the story. 50 free missions with fully animated cutscenes. I’m excited for it!
I really can’t wait for vehicle missions. Hopefully, we will get boat missions!
If the story is half as good as ODST (and i think its gonna be amazing) then spartan ops is gonna be a blast to play with friends and add more to the story.
While i think it is good that Spartan Ops is coming, i will miss firefight a tiny bit.
Then again, if i wanna play it, all i need to do is put in my Halo: Reach.
The fact that it’s not just simply defending yourself from wave after wave of enemies is enough to make me excited. New content every week seals the deal!
There was no point to firefight. Was not challenging. Had no difficulty for multiplayer and overall was kinda dull. Oh and not to mention the lag…so am I glad its gone …kinda. Spartan ops looks…key word… LOOKS…like it could take over firefight

Firefight in reach was a joke. The only purpose it served was to help people boost their rank. Also it was the same thing every time and gets boring fast. So to replace firefight with a co op campaign fire fight mix? Yes please
If anyone wants to play Firefight they can still play ODST or Reach.

Very smart opinion right here
Because spartan ops is already looking much better than firefight. A 50 mission, story driven co-op campaign that is supposed to be longer than ODST’s campaign sounds a lot more fun to play than just boosting for credits in Arcadefight, or just sitting through repetitive waves of enemies.
Because we see firefight essentially evolving. Now we have narrative, loads of enemies, and fun.
What’s not to love? It still has the qualities of firefight just better.
Not everyone loves the idea of Spartan OPS, but we are chipping away at those of that sort and more and more are loving it as the days go by.
Many of the reasons are listed both before and after this post.
The way 343 has described Spartan Ops thus far, and from the gameplay that I’ve seen from E3, it will play as Firefight with objectives, where you’ll be utilizing entire map areas, rather than in Reach/ODST where most people just picked one easily defensible part of the map and stayed put.
I’m looking quite forward to it myself. Mission based survival/objective based campaign-like missions, but multiplayer at the same time? -Yoink- yeah!

Agreed… A story based extension of campaign that can be played solo or multiplayer that encompasses an evolving storyline objective base play equals PRICELESS to me. I’m excited…
The 50 free missions are just season one I wonder how long the whole thing is gonna be, I’m happy firefight is gone no more stupid arcade a.k.a noob fight.
So 50, 10 minute (if on easy/normal difficulty and done quickly) missions for free, and most likely more seasons as DLC, that start 5 months after the main campaign and are canonical, that are set in different environments (which some aren’t even in the campaign), is worse than Firefight?
In my honest opinion after the first few games ever of firefight it stopped being fun in fact it was never fun to begin with. It just running about in a confined area doing the same thing over and over.
At least with Spartan Op’s there will be destinations to reach, objectives to do and a story to go along with it. It just sounds a lot more occupying and more worthwhile. Now i do think of the possibility to some extend Spartan Op’s wont be as good as what it’s made out to be but it will be good nonetheless.
When I complete the campaign and story of a game I get a withdrawal felling from it, I always want more story and campaign to do and I think Spartan Op’s will be the perfect substitute for it.
But for those who are more of a firefight fan there will be familiar aspects and moments in spartan op’s.
But I think Spartan Op’s will be 100 times better than Firefight.
Not you again… -_____-
