During the other three games, Cortana has very much looked like a hologram. If you looked closely enough, you could see straight through her. In Halo 4 however, she’s looking completely solid.
Reminds me of that thing where people dress up as video game characters. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about. It generally looks terrible. (the cosplay I’m talking about)

Yeah, I see what you mean. I like the way the new Cortana looks, but I don’t like how she is not see-through. Doesn’t seem like an AI if that.

Looks weird, but in the end not a big deal, who knows if that’s how it will even be in the final game? She could be transparent.

An AI can choose and modify whatever Avatar it chooses. Cortana simply modified herself because she was bored. Serina in Halo Wars was pretty solid looking.

Mmm, not really. Sure, it was more so than Cortana in Halo CE/2/3, but nowhere near as much as Cortana in H4.
i think that in the image, cortana’s texture doesn’t match her surroundings

Shes still see through, you can see lights on the wall through her right hip. What worries me is the hexagonal pattern on the Chiefs visor, doesnt look good IMO

Like others have said…technology has advanced.
Plus take UNSC Infinity for example…it has a holodeck. You aren’t going to expect the hologram environment you are playing on to be see through are you?
So if the holodeck can create whole solid environments…why can’t Cortana make herself solid?

She always has been transparent though, she also has never been the same height as a normal human. Maybe it all has something with her going rampant, i don’t know. I also don’t mind it personally.
I honestly like her being solid I think it looks pretty cool.
