This has been stirring up my mind for a long time, and to think you would actually see people questioning of why Chief is after the Guardians in H5, not saying that people aren’t, just saying not very many. And I’m confused, we always here people talking about how Master Chief is after the Guardians, ONI probaganda, etc. But never the theories on why Chief is choosing to risk his life for these Prometheans! Does this have to do with Cortana, Power, or does this relate to something with the Domain. Why is Chief running after these, why?!? After many theories from 2013, this could have something to do with Mendicant Bias. Maybe Chief is after these to use as a line of defense for an upcoming threat to the galaxy? Whatever it is, ONI is mad about it, and just like everyone else, we question why these events on the colonies are happening. According to Halo 5’s opening cinematic, Dr. Hadley has Intel on all of this. And another question comes to my mind, If this was said to be happening since the beginning of Halo 5 by Thomas Lasky himself, and if Chief by the second mission has nothing yet to do with the Guardians, it just confuses the crap outta me.

I would say Chief has reason to believe that they hold the key to bringing back Cortana

Cortana says in Halo 4 the only way to fix her is to get to Halsey. Well Halsey defected to the Covenat after she was ordered to be excuted. The original promo showed Chief holding Cortana’s AI chip wham he was walking on that planet when a guardian came up out of the snow. So I think he just comes across the guardians as he is looking for where ever Halsey went after she defected.

Actually, her chip was incinerated by the didact in Halo 4, so thats a different chip.

He still needs Halsey… Cortana was created by Halsey so maybe he wants Halsey to make another Cortana. In Halo 4 Cortana says something about being kinda like a artificial clone of Halsey at about the same time she was telling chief the only way to fix her was to get to Halsey

I think to bring back cortina but i don’t know
If chief is actually trying to find a way to bring cortana back, then I think it’s pretty selfish of him to drag Blue Team with him while he’s “accidentally” activating these guardians which results in thousands of human deaths. Doing all that just for his AI? I don’t think that’s the case, and if it is, then I think he’s in the wrong.
