I have not been able to play btb the last 5 times I queued for it, its getting weird

Well I wouldn’t call me a new hall player, I’m 47 years old. Before I retired I owned a pretty successful company with a rather large website. If my guys “broke” the website every time they redesigned it I wouldn’t have been happy. I know a website and a game aren’t the same thing but I know we tested the new site every time offline before we replaced the old one and I would hope a large gaming company would do the same. I don’t really care how they fix it as long as they fix it. Btb needs a lot of work but I’d take it in the state it was over not getting to play it all.

Thought the update today would fix it but nope. This kind of stuff really hurts the community, the game and 343 reputation. At least I feel a little let down. BTB is my “fun” time. Seems they are pushing for butt clenching ranked playlists

The answer is simple: as they said, “servers cost money”, so we are obviously failing to buy enough shop items. If we don’t each buy HAZOP then we are not funding our fair share!

lol I had the challenge to accumulate 7500 points in BTB but it was taking almost half an hour to get into a match so I played the best I ever played to do it one game and by god I almost did it. Very satisfying. Would have been nicer to see progression and leveling up the way I would have in MCC though. All I have to show for it is the broken theatre file and score card. Not only is BTB still busted. The whole game is lmao. This problem is just glaring right at those of us with BTB challenges or no desire to play regular slayer and variants or ranked.

Yeh, I have noticed sometimes it takes like over 5 tries to even connect and once you do its like 9v10 or something because automatically 4 people dropped out. I think theres a latency issue where its suppose to select a bunch of matches at a time or something and if someone drops out they throw another player in automatically. but its failing because it has to go through crossplay servers and the pc players are all trying to get max fps advantage over the xboxes and its crashing there servers. and tbh, the game runs best around 64 fps. I play min 60 and max unlocked and its a lot nicer than people trying to get 300fps thinking its way better but it scales the game through the server anyhow so it just works. lol. of course 400fps is gunna have an advantage somewhat but the servertick is all registered around 60fps. and sometimes if you are pushing that many frames itll say thats too much to render and youll drop. no matter how good your pc is. its trying to find 23 other super computers to play the match and your getting booted out of the lobby for not smoothing out framerates to literally about match everyone on xboxes.

Same, 2 of my last weekly challenges are BTB related, but I haven’t been able to get into a single game.
Hopefully it is fixed soon, or they dish out another free reward to compensate for the issue.
Not that I’ll be bummed to miss out on the toaster background, but I try to get 100% done, ya know?

Good thing they added those other modes from Custom Games to the matchmaking playlists as a bandaid patch, because this game would be dead with only Ranked working. On the rare occasion I do actually get a match to start, if it doesn’t get stuck in the loading screen, one of the teams will have only half a team. Even in Quick Play, I was getting tons of crashes during matches for no reason. People were dropping like flies leaving either team with bots. I couldn’t even finish the challenges last week because of awful servers and bans. Hopefully they keep BTB Challenges out of the pool for the upcoming Tenrai event until they can fix it.

Just to let you know 343i I am struggling through this all day as this is the only gametype I like to play. Today is especially bad.
Edit - I have been trying to get a game for the last 30 mins and I have failed over and over. The closest I have gotten is a perpetual loading screen. My graphics card fell asleep.

It’s weird, earlier in the week I was able to get on games although it might take two attempts. The other night it stopped. Hopefully they get it fixed. BTB is best mode.

I don’t care I am going to use this thread as a log for my pains playing this gametype. Like right now I am stuck in loading at 11 past the hour.
Edit - MM is perpetually failing for me. Like I cannot get into a game due to me not being in the same region or the server has region locked me. 11 past the hour it is now 15 past the hour and I am in the same loading screen. In the same loading screen waiting for it to fail.
I know I should be sympathetic to devs when something breaks but this is really broken beyond anything I have seen. Tbh this playlist should not be open for people to have issues like this. I have been in a loading screen for 6 mins no failure. I am just locked. This is h e double hockey sticks bad.
edit - i needed to end task pc at 19 after. I am falling asleep. Wth
They could at least remove any challenges BTB related - nothing worse than getting challenges for vehicles and stockpile etc. when you know it takes 20 tries to load in to a match

This all started when they made a change to the multiplayer service sever side.
At least that’s when I started noticing problems. They tweeted about it a week ago.
I have seen these types of issues with halo and cod games before. This is unlike anything I have ever seen. This is just evil incarnate. I don’t mind playing with a bug or glitch every once in a while but this stuff is other worldly. Just HOW?
edit - str8 disconnected me from lobby services wth? This disconnected me from online? Did they take the servers down?

I think I have 30 something did not finish games on my Halo tracker. Pretty sure most of those were disconnects from BTB.
Every big team battle I played in showed up on halo waypoint as played. None DNF or did not finish. My gamertag is above no DNF’s. It banned my account for searching. I will update when I hear back from my ticket.
Im beginning to think that the search and matching stalls because people leave before the game starts when they see the gametype.
