In any other halo game Team Slayer and Social slayer have always had the highest population. Now
BTB slayer is highest by thousands. Why the change?
And please, I’m not complaining. I just don’t really get it.

I think it may be due to having more margin of error in matches, in smaller matches especially in halo 4 each player really has to contribute otherwise you get one sided fights. Big matches always have the chance for people to move more and make up for crappy/afk/laggy teammates.
It might also be that less people are playing with friends which makes small matches and objective matches almost impossible to play with out getting a headache sometimes. I hate playing with a small group when most of the team is dumb and any others are just doing their own thing on the other side of the map.
The maps in Halo 4 are huge, meaning they work well for Big Team Battle.
I prefer BTB over Team Slayer as ordnance drops don’t turn the game into a stalemate or a slaughter. I also don’t run into as many full teams of coordinated players.
Though, I still prefer Oddball and Team Regicide over both Slayer playlists.

I agree with neither, but I enjoy having more targets to shoot… and destroying those vehicles.

Btb is just funner. I never understood why it wasnt as popular before,
- maps are huge / better maps in BTB
- vehicles
- DMR
- more people = more action

I personally feel as if the Mantis ruined Ragnarok. I had way more fun in Valhalla.
I think people like BTB because playing with vehicles is a fun change of pace from the other offerings which are all primarily ground based.
I know if I’m playing with a guest a lot of times I’ll drop into BTB first so they can get a feel of the game without being a huge detriment to the team if they do poorly. Considering there’s no social/ranked split anymore BTB is pretty much the go-to “testing ground” map.
I don’t understand why people don’t play dominion, it only has 4 less players than btb and half the maps on this game are perfect for dominion.
Me personally, my favorite game mode is BTB. You rack up a multitude of kills and keep your deaths down (with decent skill). The amount of vehicles is very amusing and the use of the DMR is very popular. I also think the people of the Team Snipers playlist have moved to BTB ever since Snipers was removed from the playlists. That is my opinion of BTB’s growing population.
BTB is probably most popular because it is the ultimate sandbox. Also, it caters more to casual players (who are the majority). Among competitive players, 4 vs 4 slayer (and CTF) will always be considered to be the core Halo experience. But the great thing about Halo is that it’s a series that has always catered well to all different types of players. Too bad Halo 4 left out lots of good playlists, like ranked, FFA, Double Team, BTB Objective, permanent Snipers, Griffball, etc…
Because they finally realized that BTB Slayer only is a popular gametype. Not everyone like to play objective games. Maybe they could implement in Halo 3 or Reach?? I know I’d go back to play if so.
Also, it is more like the old Halo where at the least the vehicles spawn on the map.

I dont think snipers playlist had any affect on BTB its just the fact of what people like to play. like I dont have any playlist I prefer over the other I just want to have fun

This may be just my opinion but to me this is the one gametype in Halo 4 that was poorly done. I don’t like it to be frank. /opinion
I think it’s because big team has a slayer only playlist now, and you run into other players more often on those maps. It seems like any time I look up in big team there is someone to fight. Sometimes you have to search to find someone to fight on complex.
