Why is breakout a community playlist now?

i stopped playing for like 2 months since ive been working nonstop and just got on for the first time in a while just to see that my fav competitive playlist was moved to community. Why??

It feels a lot more fun now to me.

I have no idea, but I’m with you, OP. It makes no sense for an ultra competitive playlist that wouldn’t even be attractive to highly unskilled players to not be ranked. I was very disappointed as well.

People have been saying that it might have been because of low population, but until 343 says exactly why, it’s all just speculation.

It’s still fun, why does it matter if it’s ranked or not?

My experiences in the playlist while ranked, low population. There were certain times of the day that I could not find a match, or I would be matched with ranks way higher/way lower than my own rank.

they may have moved it to avoid complaints of not being matched with like-ranks

also, there was a lot of smurfing in breakout a couple months ago, so maybe that contributed? Idk

It had a low player count so it took longer to find matches when searching for a lobby- at least in my experience. After the switch, I find games a lot faster. I’m glad they changed it to social, really helps with the commendations now that I have a better chance not running into full champion teams!

Back when I played to get qualified I remember it gave me a champion team twice. So much stress.
