Why is bloom still here?

It was super devisive in reach. I hated reach because of bloom. Seeing it return in infinite is a major turn off. Rng bloom mechanics has no place in a a comp shooter

Literally this. Everyone who’s been a fan of Halo since 1 or 2 knows that when Reach released with bloom implemented, that was when the game really started hurting. Seeing it implemented in Infinite now AGAIN after they KNOW how it went last time is just an absolute joke… among other things like no blood effects and LOL no collision. H3 is still going to reign supreme after this trash pile releases.

Depending on how offensive it is I may just go back to mcc. I don’t even play reach on mcc it pisses off that much. I want to love new halo but they bring back super unpopular stuff from previous halos

343i: “Let’s bring back bloom, everyone loves a little RNG in their competitive arena shooters”

Remember when 343i took over for Bungie and the very first thing they did was remove bloom? The Title Update was tested and players preferred the greatly reduced bloom and no bloom gametypes. MLG Reach with no bloom was great. Players praised 343i for this at the time.

Funny how 10 years later, this is still a conversation. Random mechanics make games frustrating and that should be obvious.

For super casuals it helps them feel like they are good. That’s what matters. It holds back the people that can actually aim

It’s hilarious that you think bloom started in halo reach. Bloom has been in every halo game to date, including CE. Reach is just when they started animating the reticle to show that it was happening.

Go boot up halo CE and compare shooting the AR full auto vs tap firing it. Notice anything?

These forums are full of people complaining about features and saying “oh it wasn’t like this in the old halo games” while being completely unaware that these features have been in the old halo games, you were just too unaware to notice them.

Older halos like CE it was way more consistent reach it wasn’t. You could spam your shots and have a chance of winning…… when you were timing your shots what’s the point of telling us to time our shots if spammers still win

That’s some logic you got there. Makes you wonder why 343 implemented it in the first place if your opinion had any weight to it whatsoever.

Doesn’t help that they have way more information to work off of than you do. Guess we’ll never know.

Have fun on MCC.

When h4 came out I dropped it like a rock free a few months you can check my service record on how many games I played. It’s not false logic when a new or bad account gets games a lot faster than my veteran account. 343 aims to appease the lower tier more than higher tier.

What makes you think I care about how many games you’ve played?

Or about your service record?

Or about any of your in-game achievements in general?

I don’t even know you. I just saw a comment I felt was missing some key points so I added to the discussion.

It still doesn’t justify rng aiming mechanics existing in a competitive environment it’s counter productive.

So now you are changing the story now that you realize you are wrong?

And using terms like “more consistent” how does that apply to bloom?

I would say that knowing how much bloom your weapon has (like in reach) allows for more consistent gameplay than having a static reticle that you have to guess at (like halo 1/2/3)

Complaining that you can spam the trigger and get RNG accuracy is like complaining that you can shoot a close quarters weapon like the smg from long range and have RNG if those shots hit or not.

The problem isn’t bloom, the problem is that you’re using the weapon wrong

As a “super casual,” I disagree. Bloom is a necessary feature to prevent certain elements of a weapon from overwhelming the rest of the sandbox.

Rng has no place in a comp environment again. Reach was also dropped from mlg because of bloom and other elements. When h3 and h2 were huge. Reach had no comp scene because the game itself didn’t allow it to. Infinite is almost the same with bloom. Op ar vs crap magnum (which saw little change in the update which makes me sad)

Reach was released 10 years ago. 343 have learned and improved since then so I wouldn’t get all cynical just yet. The game hasn’t even released yet.

Bruh they gotta rebuild that trust. I havnt forgotten mcc 2014 being abandoned to be fixed 3 years later. And h5 releasing with super little content cs previous releases. I’ll praise 343 if they do it right. If there is issues I’m not brushing them under the rug

I played the game far too much at the time, I understood it fully and it still never felt good. 1-2 (short) 1-2 (short) 1, 1-2-3 (medium) 1-2, 1-2-3-4 (long) 1… all the rhythms were in place based on distance, but there would still be that moment where your only chance would be to do a FAST 5 and sometimes it worked, you’d even feel guilty because it shouldn’t have. The favor would be returned eventually, pacing only to get FAST 5’d. Then you take the disc out and play Halo 2 and remember what actual consistency feels like.

Luckily Infinite competitive settings is a BR that isn’t like this, but it still has very little place in the game under any circumstance imo.

Bloom never has a place in a fps. I’m social modes settings may be different but the core hit detection and hit chance should be identical to ranked play. Let settings feel different not the complete feel of the game. And reach bloom was barely consistent

Every dork loves to think straight patterned-recoil is the best thing since sliced bread. If memorization was the end-all-be-all of gun battles you would all be playing Rust instead of Halo…

Imagine if you had to do throttle control drills at a shooting range and claimed that mild RNG offset isn’t apart of gunfighting
