Why is Black still not an option for armor color?

I’ve been waiting since halo CE for the black to be an option for us to wear on our personal spartan. Every game since then has only had Steel as the closest option. Why can we not pick all black?? I want all black with green visor. But the best I can do, as you can see, is green visor and all steel. But Agent lock gets to be all black armor?!? Come on!!! Let me express myself.

Inb4 haters begin bashing on how armor and customization dont matter.

Halo3 and Reach can force players to be “Flood” sage and black but true, you can’t pick that for online.

And the simple answer is, it just hides in the shadows too well so the closet they give is steel-gray.

I’d rock a black and grey mix armor set.

If you cant see someone with dark armour you need your eyes fixed. It was fine back in CE which also had darker environments.

I highly doubt wearing an all black armor “expresses yourself” its not as big a deal as you’re making it.

ONI doesn’t want us to, a conspiracy theory I tell you.

You can’t get black in CE. If you choose black, you get the campaign armour.

And yes, it’s why Flood is black in H3 and not Flood sage, because it’s easier to hide in the shadows/out of the lighting. Things were changed for Reach on because movement was key, not camping.

I’m more worried about chiefs dark green come on all the greens and blues are a little too light👅

Seriously its not difficult to see the infected in either of those games when theyre hiding.

They’ve never had a true spartan green. It annoys me, just like there’s no true black unless it’s a special game type.

I would totally rock black and red armor

Not for me and perhaps you, but for the general populous, yes it is.

Obviously, black is always an advantage in darker maps and environments. I understand that many of you say that with black-suited characters in other games “I can see them just fine”, and that may be true. However, the are HARDER to see and aim at for most people than characters of other colors. In addition, you have millions of different screens made by hundreds of different manufacturers, and there are some where black objects or characters are nearly impossible to see.

I’d rock a black armor suit in a second - it would be awesome! But there’s no way it will happen without them doing some extra bright-lighting effects on the suit, which would basically make it grey anyway. And good news! Grey is available now.

its in the game just not an option and I can prove it

to prevent 50% of players from wearing black armor

Yeah, I really miss black armor. My spartan company’s emblem is black and yellow, and the closest I can get with my armor color is yellow and light-dark gray…

It depends on how bright your contrast setting is on your TV. As not all TV’s are exactly the same and the contrast levels can vary, so can the ability to spot black armour amongst the shadows. I for one am glad they don’t have a pure black armor as every nerd will be running around thinking they are some cool cyber ninja.

Start a petition! I would love black armor!
