why does everyone want to be MLG?
is it cuz everyone likes them?
No, not everyone wants to be MLG. Many people, including myself, play games to unwind after a day of work and have fun. Of course, it’s important to remember that playing for fun and being skillful aren’t mutually exclusive.
Well, to some, gaming is their passion and they want to be the best at what they love, others typically have nothing else and want to make something of themselves virtually
MLG has pretty much nothing to do with Halo anymore. Or anything else for that matter. They’re pretty irrelevant now.
But I don’t enjoy losing. As a result, I try to be very good at a game if I decide I’m going to play it a lot. So I’m very good at Halo. Not because I think I’m gonna go pro or stream, or get sponsors. But because being bad at something sucks, and I don’t like being bad.
If you become truly MLG, you get unlimited Mountain Dew and Doritios powers for life

LOL true
Because gamers are largely teenagers and teenagers are largely naive (in a good way) and believe that they can accomplish anything. Like becoming an NFL quarterback, or President of the United States, or an MLG pro. Call me lazy, but life is much easier when you let go of the grind. Which, btw, is what MLG stands for. Sorry, I know I’m not the first to make the joke.

Nobody likes them.
Not really. MLG’s like a pro gamer. But there are many moments in life that shows you that you don’t have to be exactly an MLG to be a pro gamer.
Well, I think everybody wants to strive to be the best they can be, but as in any given situation, there will always be somebody worse than you and somebody better than you. Being MLG isn’t exactly important. If you can earn your way to having such a title, then I will tip my hat to you for being a skilled veteran, but in my eyes, it isn’t important.
Also, if you spawntrap in objective gametypes like CTF and Grifball to boost your K/D through the roof and to constantly get 50+ kills a game to one or two deaths, you are not MLG. Doing so is cheating, unsporting, and griefing, not being MLG.
If you can however almost consistently have a Positive K/D ratio, be the guy who carries the team with 25+ points each game, can set up traps and utilize strategy, and consistently earn triple kills+ without power weapons all in Slayer, then you might have some bragging rights about being MLG.
the only thing I want to do in Halo 4 is to just play for fun. Unfortunately, with the issue of commendations constantly hanging over my head, I find myself unable to enjoy the game as much as I want to
