Why is B crouch?

I know a lot of people will say this is tiny but it isn’t for competetive players. How are you supposed to crouch strafe and still hit your opponent? Yes I know some players do claw but the majority of non bumper jumpers don’t. What was the problem with crouch being on the left stick? Someone answer me that.

Use a different control scheme if it bothers you.

Its because sprint was added as its own button.
I do agree it will make crouch jumping and crouch shooting impossible.

See, there’s this option called “Toggle Crouch” in the player settings… ever seen it before?

And if that doesn’t suit you, do what Toa Freak mentioned, and pick a different control layout.

No need to get all angry now. There are different options.

True to the other control scheme option. I hadn’t realized that boxer had A for sprint.

I realize this. Although I despise toggle anything.

That and crouch strafe is VERY VERY different from crouch shooting.

> I realize this. Although I despise toggle anything.

It still disproves your theory that crouch shooting is impossible, just saying.

> Crouch strafe is VERY VERY different from crouch shooting…

If the crouch strafe doesn’t involve “strafing while in crouch position”, then please tell me what it is exactly…

I’ve never understood how the hell is so hard to let the players redefine completely the controls… I could do it even on my Commodore 64.

Actually, it’s not hard at all. I’m able to accomplish this quite easily.

You say its a small thing for crouch to be on LS

I say its a small thing for crouch to be on B.

Mad? There’s BJ.

Why don’t they just do this?

OT: Well, there’s not really room on the controller. I like the default controls pretty well.

Just get used to Bumper Jumper. The sooner you do it, the happier you will be. You’ll be able to crouch, jump, shoot, and strafe at the same time. What’s not to love?

crouch strafe is when you drop into a crouch for a MOMENT to dodge a head shot and then pop back up, so that if the person drops there reticule to get your head they will hit you in the body. if your locky you will have 2 more shots before dying which can make a huge difference

and i already use BJ, i just like to go back to something else so i can -Yoink- around with jetpack a lot

B is to crouch because of standardisation. Most of the mainstream first person shooters use it, and so when developers look at control schemes in their games they follow what’s popular. The theory behind this is that the player will have a more enjoyable experience if they don’t have to re-learn things they don’t necessarily have to, such as the controls.

They replaced crouch with sprint simply because it was much easier to simply click the joystick than going all the way to the B button to sprint, which is the ability you use most in my opinion

Better than holding the B button down.

i’ll just stick to recon.

Fair enough…
