Why is Assault not in Big Team Battle?

After this new update, I was super stoked to play assault as its personally one of my favourite game types for Halo. I always loved the hectic nonsense of neutral bomb and one bomb in Reach, and I was really excited to recreate that magic in Halo 5, but I was met with confusion and disappointment that it was not added to BTB… The social assault playlist is fun and all and I like the mechanics and all, but its just not the same 8v8 with warthogs, wraiths /tanks, etc, etc. I’m just confused why this hasn’t been updated and added to BTB as it has been the same three game types since the first update… I really like this update, but this leaves me with a bad after taste. It feels like everytime 343i goes two steps forward they take one step back.

It likely will be added in time. Probably didn’t have enough time to test all the Forge maps efficiently to ensure Assault didn’t cause any funky issues.

Because they shafted BTB so everyone would keep playing the cash cow known as war zone. They can’t have BTB be better than the mode making them their money.

Because Neutral bomb assault sucks in BTB. Give me one bomb or two bomb please.

It’s like they don’t know that the warthogs original use was to carry the flag and bomb.

What, neutral bomb was great in btb lol.

I wasn’t a fan. I’m dying to play One Flag/Bomb on Guillotine though.

I’m starting to get sick of waiting for Halo 5 to get content, whether the content is already in game but not in their playlist selection or sadly missing from this game alltogether for whatever reason. I’m glad they’ve added in what they have so far, I’ve been playing a ton of Grifball and plan on playing some social Fiesta later tonight, but it is so painful waiting each month hoping they will add in X features or give more support to their playlists. BTB is so disappointing with some of the worst Forge maps I’ve played on (just making direct remakes would have been a much safer option, you could argue changes needed to be made to accommodate changes in gameplay but not to the extent that the maps have changed from their original counterparts)

As a big BTB player for many years the blatant lack of support for the playlist in general really is depressing, it’s no wonder the population for the playlist is not that high. Seems like we’ll be waiting even for standard gametypes that are synonymous with BTB, like Assault. If the maps are the issue here then it really is clear that they weren’t forged/developed with the complete BTB playset in mind which really only fuels peoples complaints when it comes to the BTB map selection. There are plenty of community made Forge remakes of popular maps that 343 could consider for rotation, all it would takes it some in house testing that the maps are fully functional and there are no exploits or problems.

Pretty much this. God if they even added slayer matches to Warzone maps id be happy to play.

Because Assault wouldn’t be fun in BTB & it would just make it a bit more harder just to score in a BTB arena. As for it being in Team Arena where it’s a 4v4, its more fun, more challenging & more competitive.

you are aware that the past halos had assault in BTB and it was still fun right? Hell I’d bet it would be better in Halo 5 considering theyve improved the movement mechanics of the ball holder to move faster and be able to boost twice.
