Why is Analyze Exclusive to Kinect?

> One week after the game comes out. Someone will complete the whole library and post it on Youtube. OMG…

As soon as I complete the Library, or even while completing it, I will painstakingly type out every Library article to add what isn’t already online to Halopedia.

I got a kinect for christmas, so I really think it’s cool how there are so many sweet kinect features!
So don’t get a kinect. You’ll be missing out on all the fun!

I feel no sorrow, because I will make sure that everyone can receive any new information that is potentially added with the Library. It’s better than what I could do with Legendary stuff, because it’s not like I can say “Don’t worry man, I’ll sport those Legendary Flames for you…”

Because 343i is Microsoft’s b i t c h

Well, Microsoft has to in SOME way reciprocate people who purchased an extremely clunky and even frustrating to use piece of hardware.

I’m sure you will be able to find all covie info from the analyze feature on youtube.

> Did you forget that 343 is BFFs with Microsoft?

It’s amazing how people on these forums have virtually no idea how 343 is set up. 343i aren’t BFFs with MS, 343i ARE Microsoft. You know how MS has different braches that produce different thing? You know how there’s a Windows team and a Windows phone team? Well 343i are Microsoft’s Halo team. They are Microsoft employees working at the Microsoft campus and payrolled by Microsoft.

343i is a Microsoft internal development team.

I’m not too mad about Analyze being kinect Only… I could always use the internet

If there was an achevement I would be really Yoink mad

> It’s a trivial little feature no one really cares about.

This is the problem. It’s setting a precedent. Developers like to see how far they can push people and just how much they can get away with.

Do you realize just how much $$$ Microsoft has tied up in Kinect? They are going to be looking for anyway possible to incentivise more purchases. Sure, today it’s a just a trivial feature, but how long until they start walling off significant chunks of content behind proprietary peripherals?

As I said, this is alarming because it sets a precedent.

Still dodging my 2 questions I see.

Now, I happily admitted to being patronizing and a little sarcastic but as I said you’ve been downright insulting. You’ve called me so many rude and disrespectful names I’ve lost count while I have more or less been respectful to you. Sure, I have been persistent in my debating but here’s some of the insults you hurled at me: deluded, cynical, arrogant, idiot, ill, mental, pig headed, manipulative, Christian fundamentalist Republican. I haven’t been anywhere near as rude as you.

So you can try and make me look like the bad guy but at the end of the day when people are losing an argument they often resort to measure like ignoring people based on an exaggerated story of them ‘mental’ or ‘ill’. The simple fact is that I’ve asked you a very simple question several times and you’ve dodged it repeatedly.

I’ve asked you about 6 times if you still think Sabre pitched the game and you finally answer that 343 did? I just want to know if you still really think Sabre pitched this game to MS. Of course 343i would have been a part of a pitch, I don’t doubt that and I never asked you that.

Sorry to inform you, Sabre did NOT pitch this game to Microsoft to get a greenlight. That’s not how the industry works. As a simple fan of the gaming industry even I know that.

And I see you refuse to back up your game development credentials so I’ll take you up on that PM.

> My god, I swear. I am fed up to hell of whiny fans having a tantrum over not being able to use the Kinect feature. 343i throws something in EXCLUSIVELY for people with Kinect, and idiotic fans such as OP (who probably jumped onto the Halo franchise from Reach) whine and cry about it.
>
> Just shut up and stop making these threads, please…343i should start banning people who post this frankly ridiculous rant.
>
> And no. I don’t even have Kinect, I’m just not a complete tool as to complain about something so trivial.

You just got yourself Thank’d.

I actually think that its due to microsoft, since they pretty much have control of the company they can make them do that, or the game doesnt get published… so a microsoft is pulling the usualy microsoft…

343 is owned, and is a part of microsoft. Their decisions are dictated by the big man.

> Sure, today it’s a just a trivial feature, but how long until they start walling off significant chunks of content behind proprietary peripherals?

Oh, quit being so paranoid… Or maybe get with the times and get a Kinect?

> 343 is owned, and is a part of microsoft. Their decisions are dictated by the big man.

And that’s a bad thing? Have you kids for once considered how else you could fit in a scanning feature? A, X, Y, B, Start, Back, Rt, Lt, Rb, and Lb are filled leaving only the D-pad which isn’t fit for use outside of cover. Either 343 ruin the classic layouts in order to fit in a bonus feature, condemn us to a clunky UI which hardly does the feature justice, or stick to a more elegant solution with kinect.

Now, you may implicitly or explicitly decry the big man, but the big man is coincidentally making the decisions of a rational game designer. Either he can half -Yoink- it to leave no child behind, or he can do it right and only do it right so the game can be seen in the best possible light.

And what exactly is “a Bungie”, OP?

> Seriously, why would you make Analyze a kinect-only feature? This is just another ploy by Microsoft to sell . . . 343 have

Microsoft and 343 are not the same entity. Feel free to attack the former, but there’s no justification for vilifying the latter.

It’s an extra feature for Kinect users that in no way takes away from the core gameplay experience. Sure it adds to the game and it’s pretty cool, but you don’t need it. If you want to be negative about it, you can go as far to say it is just another useless gimmick and thus, you won’t be missing out at all.

If you want go to scan things, go play Metroid Prime because there is plenty to scan. It does the scan feature so much better in this ones opinion and for a gamecube game, it holds up really well even till this day.

Not to mention that 343 is pretty much forcing me to buy a 3D TV so I can read what an Elite is in 3D after i scan it with my brand new Kinect (which they also made me buy)

/sarcasm

I am not going to buy anything I don’t need. I can enjoy the game without and I am not condemning anybody who chooses to get a Kinect there is no reason to get angry people

lol it’s like the kids over on the forza forums who don’t have kinect and can’t get an achievement with it.
