I just don’t understand why such an easy weapon would be made powerful…
better then the BR and DMR in close range
> I just don’t understand why such an easy weapon would be made powerful…
Agreed, makes me want to use the DMR again on small maps since the BR has much slower killtime than the AR.

It’s not like there are hard guns in this game…

lol. The DMR is much easier and has more benifits. It kills in 5 shots and works in all ranges. The AR requires a reload every kill using almost all the clip and is only short range. I think you have powerful mixed with effective. automatics have been trash in every game after CE. Finally we have auto’s that work in their intended range and actually win against precision’s in cqc.
In short stop being mad. If any weapon is balanced in this game its the AR.
Because people were complaining that it was too weak in other games, so 343 decided to make it stronger.

The LR is the most balanced weapon ive ever seen, very skillful actually.

LOL so true,
and sad…

Can’t tell if serious
Whoever decided to take the least skilled weapon and buff its range (albeit slightly) buff its power and add so much bullet magnetism and aim assist that the bullets actually curve around corners is a genius
/sarcasm
in my opinion all the automatic weapons need a slight nerf to either range or power, not both and definitely need to have the aim assist and bullet magnetism reduced (but that can be said for a few weapons I’m looking at you DMR)
The only automatic gun that might need a nerf is the AR with a slight range reduction, other than that the automatic weapons are balanced there balanced.
If any gun needs a nerf its the DMR. The DMR and Lightrifle are even a long range, the DMR outguns the Battle rifle and Carbine at mid-range, and only slight weaker at close when compared to automatics.
You deserve to lose to an automatic weapon if you get too close.
But seriously the automatics are more powerful because we now have custom loadouts. The choices in custom loadouts from a game design perspective have to be balanced. This means that instead of the BR being the obviously superior weapon like in previous games, it has to be better in some ways and worse in others. In short: custom loadouts hurt halo, because instead of having a sandbox that has a long spectrum of weapons, there are now loadout weapons, and power weapons. Sure there is still variation but overall, especially for loadout weapons the guns just ned up feeling similar.
Fact about the AR. It rips through shields at mid range. People continue to charge and jump to increase the amount of bullets that hit. When you kill an AR rusher you will be left with little shields and that is only when you do not miss a single shot. Conclusion: It is easy to use just like 99 percent of the weapons in this game. This gun was not balanced but purely buffed. End of story.
Without picking at certain games here and there, overall I have in my experience found all weapons (I can undstand arguments though about DMR/ Boltshot) to be balanced as is…maybe it’s just me but I find JIP, Map styles, and social/ranked more of important issues for people…
The ar does what it’s supposed to do at close range, kill people.
AR works as intended now, which makes sense.
Never really used the AR, but I really enjoy the storm rifle. I’ll have to admit though, that nothing truly pisses me off more (not really) than a jetpacking sprayer, even if I rightfully lost the fight.
so, instead of navigation the BR/DMR user win by having a gun that completely outclassed the AR, of now actually requires you to back up and now its OP?
The Assault Rifle was never an “easy” weapon; in fact, it was underpowered in previous games compared to the DMR and Battle Rifle. It’s good that it finally got a significant buff, and under no circumstances should it be changed.

It wasn’t really underpowered for it’s role at all. It’s the starting weapon, you’re supposed to use it along with your grenades and melee to kill enemies and acquire better weapons.

Exactly. If it was so “easy” in previous games, why were BRs and DMRs top weapons in H2-Reach? Unless I am mistakened, shouldn’t there be a form of danger when using it?
