I’m a little bummed that all of the H5 themed hardware (themed console, controller, Astro A40 headset) are all Locke themed. I tried to order the one Master Chief themed piece of hardware available (the controller) but it sold out almost instantly.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Locke’s look and think he will be an interesting character, but it just gives me a bad feeling to be pushing a character we haven’t even played as yet, and it honestly just doesn’t scream Halo when I look at it at this point. An average person wouldn’t be able to look at the themed hardware pieces and know they had anything to do with Halo without being told so.
Oh well, I’m just a complainer. I was just hoping for something a little more broad like Master Chief, promethean, or hell, even a Covenant themed console and other related hardware would have been cool.

The halo 4 ones are triton warhead 7.1’s
The astro A50 Gen 2 headsets were released in conjunction with the MCC were MC themed
and now astro is releasing a new a40 headset with m80 mixamp in locke colours

I think you’re right, I just saw some Chief ones on their site and made a quick assumption. Retract my last statement then. But I will say I do Locke’s design on some of these things. Never bought high-quality headphones, but I might be inclined to now.

Yeah I think they look good as well. I’m just a little bummed because honestly, none of the Locke themed stuff reminds me of Halo at all whatsoever. I was really hoping they would go all out with the console with lights and whatnot. Oh well.

They’ve been pushing Locke and Osiris so hard, it’s hard not to have thoughts like that. Although I also understand that they are trying to market a new set of characters that will be featured prominently in the game and be very forthcoming about the fact that the campaign will be split between Chief and Locke.
I, for one, was a bit shocked and somewhat outraged when I randomly started playing as the Arbiter for the first tine in Halo 2. In retrospect, it was awesome, but I think 343 is trying to ease the audience into that kind of storytelling this time around.

I too have a pair, love them, every penny worth the price
Yeah I mean the colors seem similar to Locke but I actually think of them more as Forerunner themes like the Halo 4 Xbox 360. Plus there is an MC controller and headset.

No, it’s clearly Locke themed. Read the description, look at the Locke controller also. There is a reason the Locke (not MC) controller the H5G XB1 are bundled together. They use the exact same color pallet.
The console and controller have been publicly announced and discussed from multiple official sources as Locke themed ever since their reveal. Just read an official description or watch the official videos. This is not not a generic Halo or forerunner setup. Have your opinions but no one has officially come out and given backing to what you peeps are saying from what I’ve seen. I have no problem with the theme though I would have dished out for a MC console, I won’t be getting this one most likely, but the reality is that both are Locke themed.

… Because you are.
Why the hell wouldn’t they market the new characters? We know who Chief is. Anyone who’s read a book knows more about Blue Team. Osiris is new, and they’re also important in the campaign, especially as vessels to flesh out the Chief.
343i is not trying to make Osiris the new face of Halo. They’ve said that countless times, and all the evidence doesn’t zupport that either. Why make Chief the culmination of the Librarian’s 100,000 year plans, to replace him one game later? It makes no sense.
The Arbiter shared the spotlight with Chief. Guess what! Chief is still around, is he not? And the Arbiter became one of the most beloved characters of the series.
