Why is 343i so averse to using Classic Trilogy assets?

What I mean by that is: I get the impression from 343i that anything designed prior to Halo Reach or has otherwise been a purely Bungie design is not allowed to be brought forward or touched upon. 343i put forward that their intent with Halo Infinite was to combine all aspects of prior games into one unified art style, but rather curiously, that only extends as far back as Reach. Anything that was originally designed all the way back in the development of Halo: Combat Evolved has been redesigned or replaced, with the only exceptions being any assets that were created by 343i or a third party company like Ensemble Studios (RIP) or Saber Interactive. This even extends to the new Halo Encyclopedia, where the furthest back most of the designs go are Halo 3, and that’s mostly just for designs that they have shown no intent on bringing forward into newer games. I would like to know what the consensus on classic trilogy designs is, and maybe if someone who is either currently working for 343i or has formerly worked for them has any insights to share, I would like to hear them.

They used Halo CE sound for the shield recharge. However, we didn’t see any hurakog, scarab or flood in fps game since 343
