Why is 343 still talking about geofiltering when we saw desync during their LAN tournament?

I don’t know what the strategy is? Make out like geofiltering is the issue when obviously even the LAN games are experiencing desync and hope the players drop it?

I don’t… what? Stop gaslighting 343 lol

Wait you did not see the chart?

Player 1 has 20 ping.
Player 2 has 120
Player 3 has 119
Player 4 has 120
player 5 has 117
Player 6 has 343
Player 7 has 120
Player 8 has 119

Clearly this is because player 1 was geofiltering in order to cheat. Player 1 knows that no None-American is allowed to go anywhere near below 100 ping. He used geoflitering to break the rules and HE IS THE reason every one has desync. Not 343.

It’s pretty simple.

OP is talking about the HCS tournaments that were NOT ONLINE, using local LAN, and still desynced and crashing. 343 keeps blaming server lag, when there is no lag offline

Listen I not blind and I know how to read. I get what the OP wrote, I was just making fun of the bad example that 343i used to blame the lag on geoflitering.

Also, I thought this was a live service game. How are they able to run HCS offline? If my internet cut out I can’t even play the campaign.

It was satire

If you look at their article they go into several different scenarios and what they are caused by. The high ping portion is mainly mentioned with regards to “shots through walls”. And geo-filtering according to them caused more people to have high ping making this issue show up more often.

They however do mention other issues under the heading server->client desynchronization and they do mention there that this is due to bugs in their code, which they are working on (let’s hope they found all the cases where this happens).

Another one mentioned is delayed synchronization due to bandwidth limitations however that should not be an issue in a LAN (similar to high ping).

@yeskezspanem @GusTank04 Honestly it’s gotten so hard to tell if someone is serious or not on these forums, due to so many people being unironically serious with the worst takes. Really helps when someone uses italics for sarcasm or /s but ay my bad. Sounded like a legitimate 343 excuse for a minute

I’m convinced desync is more then just a server issue but also an issue deep within the games code as well.

No harm done, I get what you mean.

Yes this is what I was talking about. I wasn’t being sarcastic or whatever

Had games where couldn’t even kill anyone. Rocket launcher point blank and nothing. Gave up a couple of weeks ago. Just have a couple of games of bots now or campaign.

now we need to wait and see what is the new root cause(real one? I doubt), because the problem is to big, That never happened to me on Halo 5, but in infinite happens almost each game (both sides against me and me killing after I shoot when someone already hides)

You’re good. People today can’t tell a joke from a statement in a comedy club, at least you have the excuse that this is not a comedy club.

We all make it into a [redacted] club, one [redacted] at a time… before [redacted] of course.

Also, Hey Com~, I know you’re cyberstalking me. <3

Reading that last part was funny :+1:

The games code is probably extremely unstable and beyond Psagheti code like it’s Christmas lights tangled code now

I don’t really see de-sync ever getting fixed if its going to place a player with 180-220 ping in a lobby with players that have 24 ping…

As long as it groups players with that big of a latency gap, I have doubt they’ll find a way.

Maybe they should just go start supporting mcc full time and we can all forget halo 6 happened

Right, like maybe let another studio handle it.aybe someone with more expereince with open world games and love service games

You know I see a lot of assuming and a lot of armchair devs.

Do you all wanna sign up at 343 industries? Who here has a degree in any form of networking and can show detailed steps to show why 343 is wrong with their assertion?

I can guarantee nobody here has the credentials to back up their claims.
