This has nothing to do with the jobs it’s more of were they actually wuofoed, I have. Worked for staffing agencies before and not everyone they use are competent in the task they send them too. Add the whole leadership turnover, an poor communication. Overall there was no sign of a core team and core vision being followed. Everyone kinda just doing their own thing and trying to peice it all together at last minute is showing on the final product.
Click around in Halo Reach OG’s menus, realize that was 12 years ago and imagine what a true evolution of that could look like on modern hardware. It’s a shame.
I dunno much about this topic, but I feel like 343I has moved away from Bungie’s formula. I mean Halo 4 was actually great. The UI felt like it was a variation of Reach’s. With pre-game lobbies, full armor customization where you could unlock everything without paying, etc…
But something to do with some big heads at Microsoft wanted to milk this franchise, and so microtransactions became a thing, starting with req packs that evolved into the freak show we have now. A store that doesn’t move. An overwhelming majority of armor pieces being locked behind paywalls that we can’t even pay until it rotates into the store. I really wish we just paid a fixed amount instead of getting this ‘free-to-play and pay to look cool’ bull-crap.
this is a forum on the internet, aint gonna act all super formal, especially against this company
if only they had billions of dollars and 700 employees right
so what? its still a texture fix that takes like 5 minutes to fix
still 343
changin it so that an armor coatin is one item and not 3 aint that hard lmao
boy, you sure remind me of someone
yeah it does cause thats why you think actin all formal is gonna get you a job there. spoiler, it aint
Then I’m not going to take your terribly seriously. I don’t think the people who make the decisions at the company will either.
Yeah, and they made what I consider to be the tightest Halo multiplayer experience of all time despite a managerial shakeup midway through development. An incompetent team could never do that.
I see people say that a lot. Do you know which line of code it is that wrongly assigns a texture value to that piece? Do you know if changing that value might conflict with the engine that renders that or creates an error with another line of code somewhere else? Do we know that they haven’t fixed the issue internally and are just waiting for a convenient time to deploy the fix? I just don’t think it’s that simple.
So, like the website team should work on the game even if that’s not in their job description or area of expertise? I don’t understand.
That’s not a refutation of what I said. You know if Poptart signs a contract with MS to guarantee that 343i creates an armor coating for the MKVII core, 343i probably can’t go around giving free promotional materials out to players for the other cores without violating some contracts.
*Girl.
they dont for anyone else anyway
they copy pasted a game the gameplay of 10 year old games and made it a little more modern, infinite aint that imoressive
yeah it is. dependin on the engine they could literally just drag and drop a texture onto the model
if you dont get why when i say 343 i mean the whole company i dunno what to tell you
…huh?
I’m just going to clarify on that last part since the rest of what you said was a big bowl of nothing.
Let’s say I’m PepsiCo.
"Hello, I’m PepsiCo. Microsoft I see you’re putting out a new Halo. If you make a promotional item for our product Pepsi, we’ll give you a bajillion dollars."
Microsoft tantalized by the prospect of making old rich white men even richer thinks this is a great idea. They collaborate with their marketing team and 343i to work something out.
343i has this new cosmetic system called coatings. They will make a coating called PEPSIMAN which will be unlocked for the MKVII core, Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle or Bulldog when you enter in a code from select Pepsi products.
The details are finalized, and contracts are signed. Only now 343i has opened coatings up across all cores. The deal was that with the code from one select Pepsi product the player would unlock the PEPSIMAN coating for the MKVII core.
"I, PepsiCo, never said anything about the Yoroi core. Our professional relationship with Microsoft has been damaged by Microsoft giving out free materials that were meant to market our select Pepsi products. If the damages are substantial enough, we will take representatives from Microsoft to court to settle the amount."
Understand?
I wouldn’t call 343i incompetent. They had a laundry list of forces working against them, while working on this game. You may already know about the contracting problems, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. To no fault of their own 343i was put in a really bad spot, and couldn’t do much about it.
Halo Follower made a video breaking down a lot of the problems that came up during development. It’s one thing to criticize which is fair, but it has to be recognized 343i is faced with an uphill battle.
Point being they don’t deserve to be dunked on over something they had little to no control over.
What does any of that have to do with race? That’s weird dude.
I couldn’t help but be a little edgy sowwy
*Chick, lady, woman, b-tch, all acceptable alternatives when you’re talking to me.
Don’t let me stop you. I’m just saying it’s weird.
sure it was
…not every armor coating is a brand deal genius. your whole argument is based off like 10% of all coatings, and you dont even know what youre sayin is true or not regardless. youre literally just guessin
They are incompetent. Even putting gameplay and design decisions aside. The Neon Screen visor being a few pixels off centre is utterly amateurish and typical of them. Makes you wonder if they test these basic things at all let alone properly. You can’t help but laugh. Then there’s the BTB fix that just dropped to much fanfare from 343 that BTB is fixed - except it mostly is still borked even after the fix…
Campaign is till laggy and stutters a lot. Open world segments have low frame pacing and not optimized at all.
Then they want 60$ to play their crap. What a Joke.
My ticket has been open for a month no response from 343 wrt this. Indeed they are incompetent.
The multi billion dollar number company is not your friend and cannot get it’s feelings hurt by harsh criticism. Also, after all the lies they’ve told with their PR and marketing coupled with the consistent failures they seem to love slathering their reputation in, I think they deserve it. Nobody is calling out specific devs, at least I don’t think, a single person is just a cog in the machine. When anybody refers to “devs” or “343” most if not all of the blame lands on their project and department leads, those people’s incompetence being the primary reason the game is in shambles and 343 is getting consistently bodied on social media. Quite frankly I’m just waiting for another video game crash to dry up 343 and scatter it to the wind.
100% agree, we need a purge for all of these mainstream devs because their time is OVER. They’re too old and they’ve been at it too long and now all they care about is milking the titles and series we love. Yep you’re right… a few workers in certain departments aren’t to blame, but they did and still do choose to work for this company knowing what they have done and decided on. Not saying I haven’t stuck out a job I disagreed with because I had to, but what I am saying is some internal thought and contemplating your position is definitely called for.
Let’s add on that the new accessories (neon visor and mohawk) aren’t completely centered. With the former even being tilted along both X and Y axis, and the latter only being X axis.
So when can we expect Bonnie Ross to leave?
She qualifies for “upper management”, doesn’t she?
But I don’t think the “bugs” are in the game because “of upper management and Microsoft”.
So maybe we are indeed dealing with a certain level of lack of competence?
That couldn’t even understand what the fans wanted.
