Why is 343 placing the blame on us?

That is the part that pisses me off. I said it before, and I’ll say it again: 343’s business model “The customer is always wrong!” is terrible PR. I’m glad 343 finally came to their senses and decided that email just wasn’t going to work, but there are plenty of legitimate cases where there was a valid email associated with a person’s Xbox LIVE account and still did not receive an email.

I received my email, but I know plenty others who didn’t, some of which are close friends of mine. How can 343 claim that the hundreds of people not receiving specialization emails are at fault? It boggles my mind 343 can be so disconnected form the community.

What’s worse is that 343 hardly ever acknowledges the community on any other issue. Often times when they do, it is not even on the Waypoint forums. So 343’s own website dedicated to all things Halo is not fit to respond to the game’s issues. Wake up 343, NeoGAF is not the Halo forums.

At this point we’re all pretty much in agreement that custom games is broken right? Funny how one of the few issues fans all across the board agree on is one of the issues 343 blatantly ignores. 343 knows there’s an issue, how could they not? These forums, The Halo Council, MLG, etc. all have their qualms with custom games. Everyone and their mothers knows there’s an issue with custom games.

Custom games is just one of many popular issues in dire need of response. I understand the game has only been out for a month, but that in no way negates 343 from giving a response. This cold shoulder we’re getting frustrates me not only as a consumer, but as a fan. I feel cheated out of my money for unknowingly paying for an incomplete game. I was also under the impression 343 intended on supporting the game post-launch. It’s sickening how the Halo franchise and its fans are being treated.

343, take credit for your own mistakes and stop ignoring the fans.

My e-mail is valid, I met all requirements. Still no code.

I get no special love from 343?

It always seems to be the silly -Yoink- that ruins games and tarnishes developers’ reputations.

This is silly -Yoink-. This specialization business was something that could’ve been handled so easily. But look at the -Yoink!- it’s caused now. It’s horrendous. I almost feel bad for 'em.

Yup. It is a shame that they have this sense that their customers are always at fault even though clearly this is a bungled up attempt at something that either should have been tested before hand or not bothered with because as it stands, 343’-Yoink!- rate with success is far lower then the amount of fails.

Lets hope they don’t screw up sending the messages over XBL somehow.

Did you guy go to the option where you “Op-In” for Microsoft updates? Most of you should go double check. Only way of getting them.

Please also note: When stuff like this happens, make sure you have an back up email attached to your gamertag. They sent a code to that one too.

Here’s a more thoughtful question: why has e-mailing been done in the first place?

And by the way, my email is STILL VALID. I still even use it to this day. Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to post it here…

> My e-mail is valid, I met all requirements. Still no code.

and they blame us…its getting harder and harder to stick up for you guys 343…

343 are reporting what happened and have pledged to try to fix it - that’s ignoring the people who’re affected?

So they’re not replying to every single thread registering complaints or rage - have you ever thought maybe they’ve got important things to do? Like oh the next Spartan Ops mission, working out what might actually need to be done, making patches for the game and looking towards Halo 5?

But then let’s face it, haters have raged about Halo ever since the second entry arrived yet the series continues to set records and live on.

Well first, they have the wrong solution. They think our emails are invalid. My email is perfectly -Yoinking!- valid, I even use it to this day. I can’t post it here, but I can pm you if you want.

Ok, wgat constitutes a valid or invalid email anyway?
Second, where do I go to fix this and get my specialization code? I don’t know what teh Xbox LIVE Message center is…

No. As far as specializations are concerned, they’re blaming us. That was my first point. My second point was they are ignoring other issues. Let’s stop pretending like anybody is asking for a response to every individual thread, because nobody is. Simply put, we want a response. Good or bad, it’s better than being ignored.

why could they just not have implemented these specialization into the game and those who reach the required rank unlocks them? Why did they come separate.

People in Europe will never recieve the codes apparently. I bought LE but my girlfriend on the same Xbox doesn’t have access to my unlocks.

So not only are we screwed because their DLC model sucks compared to every other Xbox game, we will never be sent a code and my girlfriend only gets a fraction of the game we paid for.

Invalid email? lol

Hell yes I’ll take the blame if you send it to my xbl account! Aslong as I get it baby!

Not sure why 343 would take credit for a mistake when they had absolutely nothing, zero, to do with this. This was a Microsoft promotion, and the code distribution was held entirely by the Microsoft team.

Also, this is a courtesy, going above and beyond to send out the Live messages to those who didn’t have a valid email for the Live email account. The fine print of the promotion clearly stated that it would be sent to that email, and that codes would not be re-sent if it was undeliverable. So it is an extreme courtesy that they are in fact re-sending them at all.

Blame Microsoft, complain to Microsoft. This was their promotion. Not 343’s.

Simple answer for OP.

They are obviously lying seeing as many of us do have valid emails linked to our accounts.

Look, if 343 made it clear weeks in advance, that it will be SENT TO THE EMAIL ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR ACCOUNT, and people don’t even bother making sure it is a valid Email, how is it anything but the player’s fault?

That’s like entering a contest with a fake phone number, then getting mad that they didn’t call you when you won.

THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO CALL MY PHONE NUMBER, BUT I DIDN’T MAKE SURE TO GIVE THEM THE RIGHT ONE, THEY’RE SO TERRIBLE “DURRRR THE CUZTOMUR IZ ULWAYS RON!”

FFS people take SOME responsibility in your lives!

You guys shouldn’t be mad at 343 for that, be mad at yourself for your own lack of foresight to realize when they tell you where the email is being sent, that maybe you should realize that you can’t actually access that email. You guys had weeks to take care of that.

If you want a VALID reason to be mad at 343, be mad that there were people who met every requirement and didn’t receive the Email. THAT is a valid reason, because in that scenario the fault would lie with 343.

There are emails linked to your gamertag, and there are emails ASSOCIATED with your microsoft account. Unless they are the same, it is possible that some people have not been checking the right emails as well.

343 dosn’t care about your girlfriend. (cuz the’re sexist)

Kinda going off topic here, back few months ago we found out the terminals will not be watchable in game so I tweeted one of the guys at 343 asking why and he said it was done like that so the player could access them without it interrupting the gameplay and campaign. So i thought “but it’s not interrupting the game play and campaign as such when its adding to the story”.

But i later then discovered that another 343 employee said on neogaf before i made that tweet that they were behind schedule and the terminals never made it on to the disc.

So they guy that responded to my tweet was lying, trying to say that they didnt want the player to be interrupted but really they weren’t able to make them on to the disc?
