Why is 343 naming their new game halo 4?

I’ve had it up to here with what halo is turning into. Halo = weapons spawning at written times + no joinable games + no cheap armor abilities + no “spec ops” + no “cod points” + delayed respawns. Simple mathematics for making a great halo game. This is a formula that us halo fans know and love. When you completely change this formula, it’s no longer halo. If the leake info is true, 343 let down the halo community as a whole.

I only have a problem with some of those things. Spartan ops does not bug me at all.

I hate you

I blame bungie’s slapdash excuse of a game called reach, but it was halo so I played it, this continues on the story from H3, thereby making it, logically speaking, H4

Agreed, they should go their own direction and think of new things.
But Spartan Ops sounds awesome, if they just changed the name it’d be perfect.
What I’m worried about is that they will lose that genuine Halo feel(Which a lot of these changes seem to point towards).

Well, Campaign’s fine enough for me.

the stupidest answer to these questions. I cant stand people like you but I also cant stand people that don’t suggest anything either rather than crying

You will probably receive a warning for spamming.

He probably will but he’s right, it’s adapt or -Yoink- really. Simple as that, this is the game they are giving us, love it, like it, leave it. Up to the individual really, no ones gonna hold a gun on you and make you play it

They should call it “Halo Reach 2.0 with a hint of Call of Duty!” It’s a mouth full, but it’s perfect.

Ive been a halo fan since CE in 2001 and love Halo and realize Halo is a game that has redefined shooters by taking the game to new levels with great story and multiplayer all while growing and doing new things to keep it fresh and entertaining…and that is exactly what its still doing today.

Adding on to this “equation” is what Halo is, it grows, prospers and dares to challenge any other game on the market by utilizing what the fans love both from its original counterparts and outside sources. Thats why I love this game and that why I will continue to love this game.

So if the game ended up having giant -Yoinking!- unicorns who have monkey henchmen flinging poo at us as an enemy, we should just…adapt? Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised is 343 did that since obviously they don’t know what Halo is, and don’t care what the fan base wants. You sir, are like every single person who I argue with on youtube videos about this. You can’t provide reasons as to why the changes are good, so you say “adapt”. My guess is, that since 343 appears to be focused on lowering the skill gap, you like the changes because you will finally be able to go +1 in a matchmaking game.

You hate someone for disagreeing with you? That seems a little harsh. It is also against forum rules to flame or attack another poster.

You are obviously a campaign kid. You should try the multiplayer, then you would understand

Adapting is a good thing for a few reasons

  1. The game will be worth buying, if it did not change at all, it might as well be a $20 map pack.

  2. The game we all know and love can become even better, but we will never know for sure unless we try something new.

  3. Halo has changed in the past, why stop now at halo 3?
