Yes, the game is faster paced. Spartans cover ground much faster, and to add to that, the maps are much smaller.
So…you wan’t the game to be easier to spot them?
Then what’s the point of making the game faster paced? Think about it. LEARN TO ADAPT.
I love the radar for Halo 5.
Remember, this radar was developed/tuned by the PRO team.
emphasize PRO.
Past halo PRO tourneys, there were no radar. There were call outs, map control, and teamwork.
You are playing a more hardcore version of Halo. DEAL WITH IT.
The only main problem with the radar is sprint, combined with spartan charge. By the time you can see them on your radar they are within charge range. You are blindsided to no shield and cant react.

Radar shouldn’t be good enough to guarantee no one can get the jump on you. Someone put in the work to get close to you without being noticed- they should be rewarded for doing so.

Be careful, I got a temp. ban for saying pretty much the same thing.
ya i havent noticed any real difference with the radar. with map awareness and callouts you should have a general idea where at least 3 out of the 4 enemies are. radar has never helped you in these kind of long range situations. radar is only useful in close quarters when you don’t have callouts to help you. i find it still works well for that, and I’m often notified of an enemy behind my by my radar just in time. whenever i think the radar isn’t working its usually because I’ve spent too much time paying attention to it and not my surroundings. i agree with the OP, people should deal with it.
if people really are still struggling with the reduced radar coverage area then they should buy a good pair of headphones to plug into your controller. then no one really needs a radar (the only exception maybe being knowing if a player is above/below you on the radar, showing their coming up/going down. its the one thing i like the radar for). radar can be a hinderance sometimes. learn to use it only sparingly is my advice.

if i know someone is behind me and can hear them coming, even at the very last millisecond you can boost out of the way and make their charge miss. sometimes they come up to fast, but really charge is always easily countered by a well placed thrust. making a spartan charge miss is pretty hilarious and fun.

Radar’s broken. My K/D’s fine.
When a person who I just killed somehow spawns very close to me again within a matter of seconds and yet somehow we’re expected to know when, where someone is spawning in an area where it has been checked over and where it would be impossible to spawn or heck even drop from above with at least some obvious indication…makes me question the radar when it doesn’t show this. If people wanted no radars then they’d go play Battlefields hard-core mode instead or even Halo swat.
What’s the point in defending bad/broken game design?, many players like myself don’t look at the radar 24/7 but if we’re going to use the radar due to it showing current locations of enemy’s then we’re certainly going to use it… so blame the design, not the player when the radar doesn’t work. Being told by a ‘pro’ team how to make a great Halo is a poor excuse for what it’s clearly a broken mechanic that should be patched, should never be about accepting broken changes…there are plenty of game designers around in the Halo community and Halo is meant to be a game that caters to the casual and long term gamers. Anyone can call themselves a pro-player but that doesn’t mean they know to make a good Halo game, I seriously doubt many of them even know to make AAA quality game either or a basic 3d model.
One more thing…claiming to be pro means nothing since everyone has their own play-style and I’m sure a lot of pro-gamers don’t play the game without looking at the radar while only using it casually because it’s feature that is part of the game just like using cover in Gears Of War so instead of telling people to deal with it…try adding actual criticism that helps Halo 5.
Sure the games faster but there’s literally no reason why they couldn’t add a proper radar system in the game.
I love the fact that the smaller radar discourages camping…
But it is frustrating when you are blindsided by a shoulder charge from behind.
Some sort of early warning system needs to be added for enemies moving quickly (ie. sprinting) towards you who are just outside of your radar range. Maybe the radar could flash red to alert you… or a yellow dot appear on the edge of the radar.
Radar needs to be increased a hair because I do believe that too big of a radar can encourage camping but 343 reduced it too much. They need to find the “just right” zone for radar.
There’s no time to react.
If you don’t see them but they’re on your radar you’re already done.
I’m not the kind of guy who stares at his radar or map in other games but I like(d) to use it in Halo.
Not a game breaking feature by any means but it’s now useless which makes me sad :’(

The game would be just fine with no radar. High skilled(professional) players even prefer to play without radar. For you to consider a weak radar a “clearly broken mechanic” you’re just revealing to the forum you do not have a clue what you are talking about. Your completely off topic(and baseless) rant about 343 doesn’t do you any favors here.

Wow, like cliches much?
The motion tracker is essentially useless, you might as well get rid of it in those smaller maps and game types. It’s pretty much perfect range in Warzone.
The lack of range encourages reckless movement and sloppy play, why bother playing it careful when you know you can just sprint in and charge them or shotgun them before they even know you are around. Speeds up the game yes, takes less skill to play offensively and rewards sloppy play. Requires more skill on defenders, and defenders should always have advantage, not so anymore.
It’s a MOTION TRACKER, if a large fast moving object is approaching you it should show up sooner and be more obvious.
As is, there’s very little risk to charge in and the payout is usually a kill or two. Versus an extended range tracker where there’s high risk at charging in as you’ll likely be giving up the element of surprise, so you resort to crouching to avoid detection. Slower movement means there’s more time for you to be discovered so you’re required to be more tactical in your movements.
And discourages camping…uh yes and no. Yes in that it’s no longer the most effective to sit back take shots and you won’t always see the counter coming. No in the fact that short range makes it easier to avoid detection by anyone and also makes it harder to find enemies so you’re also less likely to make a move. But if the case of campers, if you’re inept enough to continuously feed the snipe, then you deserve to be gunned down.
And who the hell cares what the “PROs” do? They pick their nose during a game you going to do the same?

He can use cliches like ADAPT! and DEAL WITH IT! because you guys keep making pointless cliche threads that say literally nothing more than “THIS GAME IS TOO HARD!!” or “I LOST AND AM MAD” or “RADAR DOESN’T GUARANTEE I WIN EVERY FIGHT FIX IT 343!”
We care what pros do because they know more about the game than anyone on this forum.
Being able to just run around and get cheap assassinatiions is not something I feel has a skillful tactic, but that’s just me!
And, Neighbor, Strongside, and other guys who have played Halo Professionally for a while don’t see the Radar as a problem, which is why they have collaborated with a balance between no Radar and Radar. But, yeah still annoying that I need to watch in all directions most games or get killed in the back.
