Why I'm happy the show is using Silver team instead of Blue team

First off, I want to say I don’t think the show looks perfect. I’m going to give it a fair chance but, like a lot of you, I have some reservations about creative choices. However, I do think that choosing to use a new spartan team instead of Blue is absolutely the right call.

Blue team - namely Fred, Linda, and Kelly since the team composition changes at times - is an iconic group. I definitely understand the desire to see them in the show. The thing is, though, using them would dramatically reduce the tension throughout the series. The show takes place in the early years of the war and, even though the narrative isn’t the same as the games, everyone expects them to live through the war. Killing them off at this stage would undoubtedly garner fan backlash. Due to this, there would be no real tension for their lives anytime they’re engaged in combat.

Silver team, on the other hand, is relatively unknown. Any member (with the exception of Chief) could get killed at any point and I think that vastly raises the stakes for the show as a whole. Not to mention, it’s not like Chief worked exclusively with Fred, Kelly, and Linda. He worked with all of the Spartan IIs at some point or another.

I’m sure not everyone will agree with me on this point, but I think using Silver team was the right move.

I just finished episode one and I was impressed! It’s definitely Halo it’s, bloody, gritty hell on wheels like we wanted it to be. Yeah it may not be cannon as far as the games are concerned but it’s a Halo story with MC leading the pack and just so happens new characters are taking the ride with him.

I say give it a chance to anyone doubting the show.

This is why Halo will die man. We’ve kept it alive for so long, well, I think its time for me to walk away.

With so much actual cannon material out there it would not be hard to simply recreate scenes from novels or other lore related media. Or add additional creative ideas WITHOUT harming the set story line.
Every agency that seems to be picking Halo up and using it seem to know nothing about its Lore. . . This is super disappointing and disrespectful to all the people who have wanted to see Halo live action for over 20 years now and have truly put the time and effort into one of their favorite franchises. . .
They didn’t have to take chiefs helmet off, that was a mistake imo.
I won’t even complain that they made Miranda and Jacob Keyes of African ancestry (I’m sure to try and bring the other ethnic groups and the emotional generation into liking the show) And then make a spartan team that doesn’t actually exist? but why? With so many other actual spartan teams to choose from.

Like, every studio trying to do anything these days feels that they have to appease the younger generation that ultimately doesn’t give a crap about the franchise.

PEOPLE WHO MAKE HALO STUFF, STOP MAKING HALO FOR PEOPLE WHO DON"T CARE ABOUT HALO!

The only constructive feedback I would give 343 thus far is in future seasons they should look into using the “volume” tech that the Mandalorian used during filming. The CGI in the show is decent but noticeable.

I can agree with all that. I personally think they shouldn’t have used the chief. Maybe he could’ve made some cameos but use some one else. I would’ve loved a series about gray team or the head hunters. Or you could’ve done something from a spartan 2 team no one has heard about. There’s a number of possibilities. I’m giving it a chance even though stupid stuff annoys me.

did you notice the team emblem on chief’s armor? it’s not an eagle and lightning bolt it’s a wolf and a crescent moon there is no blue team in the show chief’s going to permanently be on this silver team

but it’s not even about chief it’s about kwan she is the main character

I think every characters should have be like silver team, an adaptation of the know character with new name. Halsey, the Keyes, John, they are totally different from the games, so it’s useless to leave their names. A Master Chief name Brian and his AI Napoleon would have caused less confusion (don’t judge me for the names lol)
