CTF is pretty much the staple objective gametype of Halo. Something about breaking into an enemy’s base, stealing their flag and booking it across the map is just exhilarating.
But I have always had a major issue with the way CTF played out when searching in Team Objective: I lose a lot. Some teams pull of ridiculous flag routes because they are able to drop the flag.
Look at these videos; these flag routes are so cheap! Jetpacking across Countdown while juggling the flag? That should not be doable. Throwing the flag through windows and capping the flag in 7 seconds? How is that even fair?
My skill level is not nearly high enough to pull off stuff like that. Thankfully, crazy flag captures like these are a thing of the past now that players are unable to drop the flag. Finally I will have a chance when I go up against better and more coordinated teams.
Halo 4s maps I have noticed they are large and extensive and there are multiple ways to get to things and thats why I think certain affinity does a good job.
Oh, OK, so it’s a good idea because people who are good at CTF won’t be able to use their strategies anymore, I get it. So it will put you on a level playing field with experienced players because your only strategy is to run straight back to base with the flag, I get it.

Of course it should be removed! The only thing worse than being able to drop the flag is a visible skill based ranking system. Good thing 343 is removing everything that I hate!
