Why I won't be buying Halo 5

I’ve been a huge fan of Halo since Halo 1 until Halo reach launched, Halo 3 had by far the best moments in my gaming history. It was very disappointing with the way Bungie took Halo reach with its competitive feel. I know not everyone agrees but I can grantee a lot of plays didn’t like it. 1-50 type (or even rank similar to Starcraft) of rank was what kept me playing when I got home from school until I went to bed but I also liked social when I felt like playing a relaxed game, this was Halo’s first and biggest mistake. Removing the BR Was big but I’m glad they brought it back another mistake but 343 fixed and I’m very happy they brought this and movement back. unfortunately id rather have a NON COD rank. I despise this idea and this is why I don’t play Halo unless I have nothing else to do and most the time Ill go play Halo 3. Trying to copy COD has got to be the worst thing for Halo. Halo is NOT COD. The reason COD is such a big hit is because its the same crap that people like every game. Halo making huge changes to play style, combat, and the competitive rank system when it was already great is asking for a different audience and leaving current players disappointed. I hope sticking to Bungies ideas in Halo 4 was worth the new audience. 343 claims to listen but they haven’t. I don’t plan on getting Halo 5 I was excited to get reach and disappointed and was even more excited to hear about 343 and disappointed again when they didn’t keep the competitive Halo. I’ve lost interest in Halo since 343 and Bungie tried to appeal to COD fans, I look forward to computer games since Halo isn’t Halo anymore and the only game I really enjoyed. Ill keep an eye on your future changes but from the last few years I don’t see Halo going back.

Wouldn’t hurt to bring back the floppy dead bodies when t-baggin  ha

I have couple points to say.

I’m sure 343i has learned from they’re mistakes, and they will make Halo 5 a Halo game again.

And Reach was the Halo game Bungie always wanted go make.
And I didn’t notice any CoD things in it, to be honest.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to comprehend what people mean by “Halo isn’t Halo anymore”

Still looks and plays like Halo to me.

'course I didn’t get into Matchmaking until a few months into Reach, but I’ve been playing Campaign and custom games since Combat Evolved. Still seems like Halo to me.

@OP,

So far we know very little about Halo 5, so it’s not worth announcing your departure… yet…

And this Thread belongs under the “Halo Xbox One” Forums, just for future references.

No need to announce your departure, just leave.

Okay, OP, having carefully read your post, I have come to the following conclusion: you are a whiner, just like most of the people on these forums. You also have the exact same complaints as mot of the people on these forums, i plying you’re either jumping on the bandwagon or just looking for attention.

If you wish to quit, that’s fine, but I don’t think there’s anyone here who really… you know… cares.

That’s the attitude of you and 343 that has made 370k people also “depart”

you guys are so quick to help people leave but then complain about population being low, how about instead encourage people to stay instead of feeding the death of the population. he has valid points. but he needs to elaborate better

Encourage him to stay with what? I can’t change the game, nor can anyone else here. No one’s “helping him leave.” He himself chose to leave for his own reasons and we can’t do anything about it. His ranting and any “encouragement to stay” is useless either way.

Ya dude if you don’t like the game that’s good but the fact is your not providing any good feedback so your just making yourself like a Troll.

The reason for him announcing is not to simply “whine” as many have put it due to failure to see past the obvious.

You can defend 343i all you want, but to look past the numerous screw ups is how many would put it “being a fanboy”.However, i won’t disagree that there hasn’t been thousands of these threads, because i have read as many as i could find.Very well structured and heartfelt post’s of those who were disappointed to the hateful and childish death threats. All equally have the same merit as any dedicated fan.

Anyone who is willing to register on a forum dedicated to their favorite franchise and post there thoughts is indeed a dedicated fan.If i didn’t care about a game i didn’t like i wouldn’t even bother and just turn it in to get another game. That is the undeniable truth. Some just get it out differently than other’s.

I also have stopped playing since around January.Though my reason’s are like many other’s the lack of a true classic Halo, i absolutely cannot stand the infinity Halo that infested Halo 4.I like Team Deathmatch playlist’s, not objective gametypes. What kind of Halo do i like?Go play Halo:CE, because that is how i liked Halo.Very simple, and well structured gameplay.

The utter failure concerning online connection was a huge turn off as well.I have never played online multiplayer in any game with such bad network behavior on the 360.Never.I cannot believe how 343i managed to screw it up so badly, it is that bad.It look’s as if people who failed game development and were college dropouts wrote the code for the multiplayer network.I don’t know anything about code, but i can tell as a gamer that it is horrifyingly bad for a AAA exclusive title.

You also need to understand 343i had a blank check to work with and a huge workforce.Think about it.

Anyways enough of my rant because it means very little. All i know is that if 343 does not give me and many other’s a pure classic Halo multiplayer experience.Me and those many other’s will not be playing Halo 5 past the campaign. That is all.

I’m really, really worried that when they start releasing info on Halo 5 they’re going to give us some sort of small consolation and keep most of the awful stuff from Halo 4. Like “We listened to our fans who weren’t happy with some of the changes we made in Halo 4, so in Halo 5 we made the Boltshot a two hit kill. And also there’s new perks for your custom loadouts!”

I don’t mind.

Sounds like your point were: rank, cod, and tbagging. This alone makes me scared.

1: In regards to rank we have both a “cod” or better known as progressive rank and CSR which is pretty much 1-50 just not visible in game. So i’m guessing you will want it visible next game? that’s okay. But i still struggle to grasp why ranking is so important. I’ve only ever cared about ranking when it came to unlocking things. I already know how good i am i don’t need a number to show that off.

2: “sigh” Halo 4 is nothing like cod. It doesn’t play like cod. It may have cod style ideas. But seeing as how i don’t ever think of cod when i see these features and almost none of the new features play like cod i don’t see the issue. Halo 4 “modernized” to keep up with todays market without sacrificing what halo is. I know halo 4 has issues. But halo 4 is still halo. Also call of duty has made changes that impact the game greatly since COD 4. Call of duty is popular because it’s what todays gaming market wants. They want a fast paced “realistic” FPS that is easy to pick up. Halo has to work against that since arena shooters VIA console are pretty much gone and halo has a learning curve with futuristic styles. Those of us who have been around for most of halo would buy a halo title regardless. But 343 is a company that needs to make money in order to continue to make us games. Some changes are unavoidable. I really hate anyone who brings up call of duty in any argument because it’s wrong in so many ways it’s only said to sound clever.

Lastly 343 has listened. They have done plenty. They have admitted to their mistakes openly. They continue to support halo 4 still. To deny any of that you’d have to be more blind then a fanboy.

Please, elaborate on how 343 don’t 'care’about the community that’s left.

I still dont get it. how is Reach a terrible Halo game i love it it was so much fun from matchmaking to forge. I didn’t see anything wrong with it. Also bungie was in the middle of developing destiny.
