Now i know some people hated the storyline. I though it was great, it was awesome being a Spartan team. The characters were awesome, and its great to see the story told from another spartans eyes rather than Johns.
The gameplay is buttersmooth as well. It just feels right. I like the armor abilities and how they were well balanced. Honestly the whole game is well balanced. A lot more than pretty much all of the other games. All of the weapons have their ups and downs and dont too overpowering. Like how the rockets were in Halo 2 and such. I felt Bungie perfected their craft with this game. The models look amazing. The art style and textures look great, and pretty no poping in either. Which kinda happens on Halo 4 quite often.
The multiplayer system works a ton better too. Even though i played Halo 3 for days the whole skill system was a bit bollocks.
I think Reach can easily go down as one of the best Halo games. Up there with CE and 2. If CE didn’t exist it would be the best Halo.
If only we had gotten the stuff Bungie had to leave out…

Like driving a Scarab out of New Alexandria, or weather in Forge World, or any number of the ambient life AI they got rid of to go gold. The stuff they wanted to put in but had to leave out is well documented and the only one I have actual concerns about is the Scarab drive.
Well, as long as we’re at it, I’ll just throw in here that Reach set a standard for telling a story with a video game that was lost on 343i.
The way the story unfolded, the impeccable graphics and animation, the inclusion of YOUR Spartan in the cutscenes, the dialog, even the AI. This was a landmark Halo game that has gone unappreciated because of (in my opinion) some minor multiplayer issues that could have been handled better.
My son sold my copy of Reach last year in order to get himself another game. I recently bought myself a new copy and he has specific orders to leave it alone if he wants to live.
Nice man, haha.
I agree 100%. I though this game stepped up story telling not only for Halo games, but for FPSs. And sure some of the multiplayer stuff was a bit eh in the beginning but i though they were easily sorted out later on. This is like one of the few games i have bought on day one and im glad i did.
