Why I think combat training should be implemented

From what we all learned from copying a call of duty is don’t it lol. But from the very beginning I have been a Call of Duty Fan before I knew what halo was! I first got introduced into halo when I was at my friends house playing split screen for halo 2. I was off and on with it because I did not own a xbox :(. So I would only get a chance to play at my friends. But I did have a PlayStation so I got to play all of the call of duty games. From my experience playing every single one, what stuck our to me the most was Black Ops combat training. I

was never the best player in the call of duty multiplayer. And I was discourage my the toxic fan base so I only played spec ops from MW2 and when black ops came out combat training!

In my personal opinion sometimes when I don’t want to get smacked my sweaty kids in halo matchmaking (because let’s be honest the only kids left in the community when it comes to matchmaking are sweaty kids or kids that don’t have thumbs and end up always loosing to the sweaty kids and don’t want to call out then end up leaving) it honestly gets very mentally exhausting having to try your -Yoink- off just to lose by 15.

I would love there a custom option where you can play against bots to either get your sniping skill up, your BR shot better, understand map rotation without a mic, when is it a good time to bait and switch or even realizing if you’re going to die why not die where your teammates can see them. There is so much to be gained from having a combat training in halo without people getting annoyed with you or mad at you because you didn’t understand something. I know halo is not a populated game out all right now and combat training would just take away players from matching which of course effect that population on matchmaking as a whole, but I would rather a little less population. Then getting matched with high 50s/champs (not blaming kids blaming the matchmaking system which is utherdely messed up) just to get my -Yoink!- handed to me.

Im not telling 343 just take combat training straight from call of duty. I’m saying take the idea and make it your own to help players learn without them being discourage!

I don’t see why not, could be fun if they get the AI right.

I would like to see A.I. bots, not just on MP levels, but also in Forge.

Creating my own campaign levels and skirmishes has been something I’ve always wanted to do.

I think the best way to do this in a way is probably is either Forge or Firefight plus the early waves of Firefight (Odst style) would be easy enough for player to get the hang of fighting the enemy before increasing the difficulty while Forge would just work for experimenting in general. I think the problem with modern Halo games is it’s got a point where most people seem to think the solution to most problems is spamming BR so they don’t learn about things like the Plasma Pistol, which is pretty useful for quick kills but they won’t notice this till it’s too late, which is why I always recommend playing the campaign first since I feel like it’s usually the best training course out there for understanding the basic’s and how to improve/adapt. As for 50’s…I don’t think skill is ever going to avoid that situation since matchmaking can be unfair no matter what skill gap there is.

I mentioned that exact idea pretty much in another post. Being able to go into a MM simulator against AI spartans. This would be a great stepping stone towards online MP. New players can learn the weapons, maps, jumps etc. Id be all for it, not sure how possible it would be though. Even if you could set the difficulty of the AI. Easy, normal, etc

They could do something like BF where you have a training map with a bunch of stationary and moving targets plus all the vehicles to try out.

This reminds me of COD where you get to run a time trial on the course & pick what weapons you wanted. That was a blast.
