Skip to 8:00 and listen for a minute. I know David Ellis already told someone on NeoGaf or somewhere not to look into it too much, but I just think it would be rediculous to have 1-50 when playing a build of Halo 4 with MS employees and then not have 1-50 in the final game. Does anyone see what I am trying to say?
I sure hope you are right.

Care to elaborate? I’m a bit confused.

Awesome, just hope it’s not visible.

In the video the guy says “everyone in the office is ranked 50.”

Hm… this may be good.

Possibly referencing ranking in past games
> Awesome, just hope it’s not visible.
Can you please give a reason why? because i would like it to be visible, just so i know if i ranked up or not, and the only reason I can really think of to not have it visible is that all some people play is social and you don’t want to be made fun of, which I can understand.

My opinion on this is explained extensively on another thread, I would like my rank visible to me, but not in lobbies, a visible rank breeds a lot of bad in the online community that can ruin the game for a lot of people, breed boosting, selling of profiles and so on and so on, basically I would like my rank to be my private business but I would like the matchmaking feature to work based on it. I just don’t like the prospect of a full disclosure ranking system. It could once again harm the community more than help.
Edit:

> Your not getting what I’m saying man, I’m ALL for a numeral ranking system. I just would rather that numeral be visible only to me. Hell you can even make ranking up by spartan points contingent on having the appropriate numeral ranking to an extent. My point is, wether the numeral rank is visible in lobbies or not the issue isn’t the implementation of a system, it’s in the mind frame of the population.

> But I digress, I would love to have numeral ranks back in, just not visible to anyone but the player. Your skill shouldn’t be something you can hang over your opponents head before the first kill. In my opinion that detracts from the simple joy of blasting said opponent when they think they got the drop.

That would actually be a pretty good idea, it would stop alot of trash talking and boosting/selling accounts
Exactly, take a look at the edit and it’s a little more descriptive, there was a great volley back and forth on this very subject earlier
Sure, as long as it’s invisible in social matchmaking. Most of the fake 50s I met were just booting around in social, bragging, and making “highest skill” invisible in social sure would kill most of the fun for the kids who bought/boosted accounts.
Or have highest skill reset very few months, that would make it very expensive to keep on buying a 50, while a legit 50s player would get it anyhow from playing ranked for fun (invisible true skill is not reset, hence you’ll get fair matches anyhow).
I just hope to god they don’t feed those trolls and all the other -Yoink- bags that do their darnedest to ruin the game for everyone in the lobby
