Why I No Longer Like The Halo Community

I love every single Halo game PERIOD. Well maybe not Halo Wars but nevermind that. I love the games and specifically the campaigns. But oh the moment I get ready to go online or go to forums I HATE the game. Lemme elaborate on this.

  1. I seem to always get a terrible team who cares more about K/D ratios than teamwork, while the other team is always perfect. And trust me, this is not the crowd I belong in.

  2. People don’t know what Halo is about. I mean this isn’t COD where you just play the single player for Acheivments, this is a real masterpiece series. It drives me nuts.

  3. (This ones the real kicker!) Everyone complains. Specifically about the following games: Halo 4, Halo Reach, MCC, and Guardians(beta). They think all the side games and 343 games are terrible games, when its only due to small changes, or big changes that are honestly for the better. For example everyone one hates Reach for amour abilities. Man up, you get them too, and if you think they’re SOOO game breaking, round up some friends and play custom games. And everyone says 4 sucked. It was different and you are so afraid of change that you tuck your tail between your legs and run. Ugh, and MCC!!! Don’t complain about some launch bugs, you’re lucky you got a game to play at all. I admit it got frustrating at times but it was all worth it especially now with the free campaign added to the game! 343i didn’t ruin anything but I’ll admit they didn’t make it any better.

Anyway that’s just my opinion, feel free to share yours and I’ll make sure to read it and take it into account. And please read the whole thing before bashing me! Thanks, and keep those shields up!

Your expectations are unrealistic. I find all of those things extremely annoying and I still play Reach 4 times a week, watch HTT every week, and currently can’t wait for E3. I also visit this site regularly. Being a Halo fan isn’t about caring what people think, and it still makes total sense to me that they would complain… when in the past 7 months they still have yet to get what they paid for in the MCC, and you honestly expected people to stop complaining. Why? Did you predict that sometime in the near future, Halo fans would stop being passionate and concerned about their favorite franchise, (which is pretty much the only reason they complain in the first place) even though they’ve been criticizing the series since Halo 2 in that same vein?

People need to get their tolerance of other people in check… That’s what need to change.

Almost seven months later and the MCC is still full of issues and lacking developer support. People have every right to complain about it.

> big changes that are honestly for the better. For example everyone one hates Reach for amour abilities. Man up, you get them too, and if you think they’re SOOO game breaking, round up some friends and play custom games.

Could do that, OR you could (successfully, I should point out) campaign on the forums to get those things removed not only from Reach’s matchmaking, but from future games as well. They aren’t going to know something is a bad idea unless people get together and make them aware that it’s a bad idea.

Man, nothing about armor lock is “for the better”. It’s the equivalent of the kid on the elementary playground that calls time out during everything then argues with you about it when you keep playing like you don’t care. Really need to be more open minded about how you look at some of these changes.

  1. I can understand that, it happens a lot to me as well, the solution to that is to play with a group of friends or a clan, it’ll solve that issue in an instant.

  2. Halo is an FPS, and the general FPS crowd is notorious for ignoring campaigns.

  3. This point made me really cringe. “Armor abilities are for the better”. No, just no. And if we were so afraid of change, I guess that means almost every “purist” has an intense hatred for forge, firefight, armor customization, playable sangheili, emblems, etc. because by definition, those are changes. And for the MCC comment, paying for a video game is a sacrifice on my end, not a privilege given to me by 343, so don’t be defending they’re complete and utter failure that makes AC:U and BF4 look like flawless launches, and tell me how much of a brat I am for be unsatied with a product that is still broken.

And another 343 -Yoink- riding band wagon fan who could get -Yoink- on by them, then still love them. slow applause. This is pretty much what the forums are now. Someone speaks out against something they don’t like. Don’t worry 343 here comes the “you hate change fans/ -Yoink- riders to the rescue”.

Sorry. I was a bit mean

so glad, that the “i don´t like the changes 343 have done und will do with h5”-fraction is not as big as the “pro 343” fraction…

Sometimes I wonder if people read through what they write.

How many do you think are actually “afraid of change” as opposed to those who have actual legitimate concerns about the changes? When does a change become a legitimate concern in your eyes so that you’re not afraid of change? The way I see it, anyone who jumps on that excuse to not actually argue with an argument, have some sort of imaginary threshold of change which can be complained about. that they themselves can’t explain, but will try to whenever they have a concern themselves if presented with the same “afraid of change” excuse. Who’s tucking their tails between their legs and run? The people presenting arguments or the ones who do not even care to take a go at those arguments but instead resort to personal attacks or “afraid of change”?

For the better? Please do elaborate on this. I’m afraid though it’s going to be the monotonous “make modern gameplay that’s not old and dated” explanations again.
