Why I hate warzone

Summary for those of us that are pressured for time. Angry player fresh from a few bad games of warzone is annoyed by the following: Stealing boss kills because it’s a cheap way to win, farming excluding the companies who mercy kill the core, losing legendary reqs or tanks and mantises, how in the -yoink- did you work out that marines have the magical ability to see me when I’m cloaked? -Yoink!- 343, you’ve seen enough people complain and give solutions for these things. Basic and easy solutions.

So, Warzone. The prized creation from 343 that they force on us… is annoying as hell to play. You give me less req points for arena which I wouldn’t mind so much if Warzone didn’t have so much wrong with it. Don’t get me wrong, I love Halo 5 and Warzone is fun when these issues don’t occur but these things ruin my mood every time they happen so here you go 343, take some notes.

Boss takedown steals. However you put it into words this strategy is just pathetic. In my last game of Warzone this happened twice. TWICE. I had Rok down to basically no health and on the last shot one member of the opposite team fired a single shot and got the kill. Me and my team had used ghosts, rockets and a laser but that one guy got the kill. This needs fixing because in the same match, guess which team killed Hestro? Guess how many shots they fired? I admire the precision this little -yoink- possesses and how he only needed one shot both times. I also hope he screws it up next time and gets T-bagged every time he dies. This just ruined the game because we were losing even with total control, which we lost when a few players quit. Now, how to fix it. I’m no games developer but I can think of so many ways that this can be fixed. Somebody on the forums said that the points should be divided up according to damage done by each team. I personally think that there should be a separate health bar for blue and red teams.

Farming. Okay, this one I can see why people would do it with the Achilles armour being the only armour earned in Halo 5 (I’m still really ticked off with 343 for making Helioskrill pack obtainable, not cool) but it comes at other players’ expense. Being trapped in the home base for ten to fifteen minutes is boring and humiliating. Thanks to all the companies who just go for a mercy kill and end it. This is a topic I’ve seen addressed many times and whilst I’ve only felt the pain a few times, it sucks. So why the hell is there no solution already? I say that there should be something like a req boost for every minute. Each minute, go up a level, get better guns and hopefully fend off enemies. This idea has it’s flaws though, so why not allow us to spawn outside of our base after a few minutes, maybe give us a chance?

Spawning a legendary req… Then dying after two seconds. The same goes for vehicles on the ground. Why am I spawning in a firefight where it is obvious I have a much higher chance of losing the req than using it? I got a nornfang and I thought I’d use it to get a few kills. Spawned in on the garage. A guy races in with a shotty and wipes me out. I know I need to get good but come on! I might like to actually use a req! Mantises and scorpions, why are they so underpowered? Scorpions are slow and have to be used at range because if you get close to what you’re firing at you’ll get a grenade in your tank. Same with the mantis. Take away boarding from the front on scorpions and boost the speed a little! With the mantis, no boarding! I never use the things because they just suck for keeping alive!

Little things. Why can marines see me if I’m using camo? How can they destroy my banshee so fast? It’s fine that they do that much damage on foot soldiers but on apex 7 there’s a huge chunk of the map I’m afraid of now because I can die so easily and there’s four of them targeting me. Why do banshees kill so quick when controlled by AI. It’s not that big an issue but it’s basically impossible to dodge their fire.

I love Halo 5 and I can honestly really enjoy warzone. These things have ruined that fun for me at times though and I know that I’m not alone.

I agree with pretty much everything you said there, and the only thing I can add is the fact that more Boss variety would be nice.

Most of the things you listed are what make the game interesting to me. I want to be challenged, and the variety in game does it.

Ugh, people complaining about boss kill “stealing”

It’s called the kill shot for a reason. It’s your team’s fault that the other team got the kill and you didn’t. It’s really as simple as that and it’s not “cheap”.

“hmm, the boss is getting to its last bit of health…I would shoot at it but I don’t wanna be cheap”

And it’s not something that something that needs fixed.

I love Warzone. I was on a winning streak with a friend. But I agree with the farming, trust me it is not fun sitting there for 15 mins for the enemy to kill your teammates and not the core. Not fun

I really want to hear your explanation of how he is supposed to get his entire team to properly cover a massive area, every nook and cranny, to keep even just one guy from getting one shot off on any one of these expansive maps.

If there were 2 separate health bars, what point would there be if the enemy team had a tank? You can just hope that your team is putting enough fire to get that last shot. Also, I call BS that a guy took one shot and killed a legendary boss…twice.

Honestly it’s your fault if you lose your good reqs. Wait until you have 2/3 bases and know how to rack up some easy kills. I’m not saying it’s not annoying, just that it’s mainly your fault.

Farming is an issue, but it barely happens. The enemy capping all 3 bases is not farming. Farming is where they camp in the core room and rack up kills without destroying the core.

The only thing I agree with is the marines. They should have the same firepower as Spartans and not be able to see camo unless they’re right next to the invisible person.

I just think they shouldn’t of even made Warzone and just had Fire Fight in from the start instead. You blast threw REQs in firefight. I even used some of my super crazy high level ones in FF, but in warzone, I never bother too. No point, I never need them. Then they could of focused a bit more on BTB which they clearly haven’t at all in Halo 5.

  1. Get a tank yourself and try to supress enemy fire until you get the kill or just get some legendary req to kill them without being unfairly yoinked. If you lose the boss kill then it’s your team’s fault for not focusing on it. If you have a better idea, go ahead but you can’t deny that the issue is extremely annoying at the time. Maybe if the team who gets the kill only did around 10% damage then they only get 100 points and the other team gets 50.

  2. The guy did it twice. And I lost the kill both times. Even if he did fire more shots beforehand I don’t care. It’s BS that he can put in zero effort and he wins because of it.

  3. Just because it barely happens farming is still an issue and it ruins the game some times.

Thanks for agreeing with me with the marines.

Your headaches are the same as mine. I literally stopped playing standard Warzone because its just so bloody ANNOYING.
I try to go for Spartan kills and hope someone else deals with the boss BUT NO ONE EvER DOES.

That’s great. I’m glad you can enjoy these parts of the game but I find these aspects annoying.

I think the marines being able to snipe your banshee from 90 meters away with AR’s with seemingly no spread and extra damage is complete BS.

I usually go for boss kills, but I also try to get spartan kills.

I always thought that the bosses should have two life bars. If you see you have a chance then your team can make a push for it. If not then push for capturing bases. If you think because the enemy team has a tank there is no hope, focus on the tank and then bring in your heavy hitters. It would open up more possibilities and more sense of rivalry instead of lucky shot rewarding.

Play Warzone assault. It’s much better and nobody’s gonna steal your boss kills.

That’s not the point! It happens all the time in regular warzone and something needs to be done about the luck being more important than skill.

What I was trying to say was that if the enemy team had a ton of firepower, there’d be no incentive to try and kill the boss. Maybe they could hide the health bar at 10% health so nobody could wait until the boss gets low enough.

You made it seem like the guy shot once and stole the kill Like this. If he shot a couple times, I can see that it’s plausible, but still very rare to happen twice in one match.

I know farming is an issue, but I’ve only been farmed once for all my time in warzone. It shouldn’t affect the game if you don’t get farmed. Also, since the companies that farmed all received Achilles, I think farming has lowered significantly. It really should only affect the game where you’re actually getting farmed.

You don’t have to cover the whole map you just have to do a better job of controlling it than the other team.

If your team controls the spire and the other team manages to get warden, your team dropped the ball, it’s just that simple.

In every game ever, the player/team who gets the kill, gets the uh…the kill.

I agree with pretty much every but the Boss kills. My very first legendary kill was Rok, with a magnum. Yup, magnum. Speaking of Rok, I stole one yesterday with my BR. & it’s very much a two way street. It hurts bad when it happens to your team, but feels positively glorious when you manage to do it. Especially on a legendary boss.
I really feel you on the req use/loss. I stockpile mine, or “borrow” from fallen friends & foe. & I use mostly common or uncommon weapons vehicles, & sparingly at that. although I have to admit I’m very addicted to the railgun.
