Why I Don't Want Forge World In Halo 4

When I first saw Forge World I loved it. It was open and huge, plus it added the most advanced map ceation tools I have ever seen. This quickly wore off after I got the game though. I am a forge lover, so I was on the map A LOT. I am a multiplayer lover, so I played on that map A LOT.

It seemed like everything revolved around Forge World, and soon the setting got old. Halo 3 should really set an example for forge because it had multiple maps well suited for Forge (Forge World was the single map in Halo Reach were you could build more than weapons). I really hope Halo 4 follows Halo 3’s example and creates a diversemap range. I’m not saying that evey map should have the Forge capabilities as Forge World does, but what I am saying is that there should be multiple maps suited for forge (and maybe each even have different envioments such as Sandbox’s multilevel parts) and that the multiplayer be on all maps instead of all on one map.

If you agree please comment or post your opinions and maybe they can even be heard by 343i.

yeah i agree i would like forge world but also have a range of different worlds each having a different style

Yeah I agree, I want a diverse map setin the world to play on.

There was a glitch and it said something else and so I changed my previous comment to oops and then changed that from there.

So, instead of adding a greater diversity of Forge W. color pallets, REMOVE it completely?
wow…

they should give us a blank canvas where we can choose the background and size.

Agreed, having forge on multiple maps in halo 3 was fun. It was very diverse too. I still have much fun playing on Reach forge world, but the blue skies and green grass scenery along with gray pieces have been a bore.

What if forge was successful in forge world and other maps for halo 4, you get both!

Agreed. Forge World map variants got so old. I wanted to play ACTUAL maps

I agree wholeheartedly. Here are some other features in which I would love to have in Halo 4’s forge:

  1. More natural pieces- I feel forge should include more natural pieces in order to give more life to the maps people forge. This would include trees, shrubbery, etc. The grey metal walls in Forge World really sapped the life from many great maps.

  2. Pallet swaps for individual pieces- allowing forgers to change the texture style for individual pieces would open up a whole new level of design when in comes to forging aesthetics. Imagine fighting in a futuristic base on the side of a cliff. As the battle moves into the cliff side, you discover an ancient temple. The forge pieces in this location look like crumbling stone walls covered in moss.

  3. MORE THAN TWO FRIGGIN’ LIGHTS!- many a time the two-light piece limit has halted progress on some potentially outstanding maps.

  4. Weather effects/time of day effects- the effects in Halo Reach and Halo 3 are nice; however, they were quite limited. It would be really nice to incorporate weather effects such as rain, snow, fog, lightening, etc. In addition, time effects would be nice too. Being able to set the time of day would allow an even better aesthetic/gaming mechanic. The effects in previous Halo games were nice, but the lighting and shading were never quite right.

Feel free to make suggestions.

I agree with all of these suggestions but I don’t think 2 and 4 will get into the game unless forge is on a differn’t disc because it would just take up to much memory and start to severely lag or crash, they might not make it because of time issues either. It would be AWESOME if they all made it into the game though
