I mean, yeah, you get a whole bunch of cosmetics and stuff. However, you’re just paying for in game content which you can get just by playing the game. It’s essentially re-purchasing part of the game.
So was the warzone pack? It just help unlocking cosmetic faster and it please the completionist
So I take it that you disagree with all REQ pack purchasing?

Unless it’s with in game points, yes.
To me, it’s like saying “Hey, you can unlock this stuff after playing the game for a while. Or, you can just pay us more money to get in game stuff which you’ve already purchased”
I’m not buying it because every sale they get is a statistic proving their business model is successful.
If you buy the Req bundle you have absolutely no right to complain about Lack of content, remixed maps, pointless reqs, not enough game modes, no social, it’s only half a game etc… People who buy the packs are the reason for all of these.
I don’t think it’s the direction Halo should be going so I refuse to fund it. So should everyone who dislikes the lack of content.

Well, to an extent I understand that. When you have things like emblems in the REQ pool which were available from the start for free in prior games, it is essentially paying for somethin that used to be free. Don’t think the Arena bundle has it, but still.
Cosmetic stuff including the Helioskrill? I think its good if people want to eliminate cosmetic stuff quickly, then they can start getting gun’s a lot quicker. However I would advise to at least complete Bronze packs first and maybe half of the Silvers before opening an Arena req pack. I didn’t buy the bundle but my assumption is that it will contain common armors and that would be a pointless pack if you unlock common armors.
Yep, I agree with this on all REQ packs, I can’t believe people would spend money on stuff they can unlock for a game that can already be unlocked by playing. To each their own I guess.
considering other people WILL spend money on the packs (people that still want the gear but dont play as often) it helps promote the game and sponsor tournaments to keep Halo out there
i dont know how much money the developers see from the sales but i do know it is used in the marketing for HCS and prize pools
It’s for those of us who… A: just want to unlock stuff faster and B: like Halo and want to support the game. C: play a lot of arena and want the arena boost/jack pots.
You people call Warzone pay to win so when 343i gives you 14 packs that are only cosmetics you people complain.
God I just love this community.
any kind of implementation of micro transactions is wrong period. Its simply greedy.

Wow I actually never thought of that as a repurchase of the game, yeah it’s actually what it is damn

yes and no
this day and age companies cant ride on $60 sales alone anymore
with all the new games coming out constantly they need to keep up with development and support of the games and cant afford that on just License sales
there are good and bad things about microtransactions but you have to understand they are OPTIONAL
To make my position clear:
I do not support the Micro-Transactions. Unless I see something that is new and exciting, I will probably never support them. Right now it feels like the money goes to develop parts of the game that have been left out. I’m not going to pay full price for a car, and then $3 every week for bits and pieces until it is actually street legal.

We’re not one big hive mind you know… we all have different thoughts and opinions.

It’s still alarming to have so many pay options as opposed to point options. Isn’t it odd how the claim is that you don’t have to buy REQ packs but the appealing bundles have to be bought with cash?

Well, if the payed options were unappealing (cough Vehicle Pack cough), then 343i wouldn’t make as much money. That’s why Bronze packs can’t be bought with real money: the profits (if any) would be negligible, as both the price and demand would be too low. How many REQ points should the Premium Bundle cost, then? It’s equivalent to 21 Gold Packs’ worth of permanent unlocks, which would make the price at 210,000 RP. That would be rounded to 200,000 RP in actuality, but given the discounted price of $25 compared to the nearest equivalent of $48, the most realistic RP price would be 100,000 RP.

I’m honestly not against the idea of micro transactions. I am however against the idea of saying “Hey, you can unlock in game content faster by re-purchasing it”
If all of these bonus REQ’s couldn’t be obtained by in game points, then I’d be alright with the Microtransactions

That’s when you get into the “pay to win scenario”. Which some claim H5 already is.
