I’ve been playing Halo for many years now - ever since the original in fact. 343’s track record for the past Halo games they have created has me really excited for a multitude of reasons so I decided to share them with the Halo community to see if they feel the same way to build up anticipation for the next Halo game. So let’s get to it.
These are the things that I like:
-
How every game released after Halo Reach hasn’t even really been made by 343 - instead said games have been entirely outsourced to various third party developers such as Saber Interactive, Certain affinity etc.
-
How anything reminiscent of Halo multiplayer has been stripped away and instead been copied and pasted from whatever FPS is popular at the time - right now it is Call of Duty. I am sure Microsoft has market analysts who predict what style of gameplay will sell the most.
-
How the Halo Universe has been expanded(milked) to create alternate story lines to make even more generic games.
-
How Halo was turned into into a generic iPhone game that is nothing more than a glorified Horde mode.
-
How Halo: TMCC was released in a broken state. But look at the bright side 343 gave you ODST for free(but without Firefight of course because that would have taken actual work to make because of the net code).
-
How Halo is supposed to be Microsoft’s flagship franchise but there seems to be little to no quality control for any Halo game release. I guess this is kind of hard when 20 different studios are making the game because of time constraints and none of them are your own.
-
How a CGI trailer, Doritos and Mountain Dew are supposed to get me pumped up for the next Franken-game that 343 stamps their seal of approval on.
In order to anticipate the future one has to delve into the past to predict what is the most likely outcome. These are the reasons why I am so excited and can’t wait for Halo 5. I will be in line at midnight launch with Doritos and Mountain Dew in hand. I can hardly wait.
Don’t worry. Halo 5 is the gem that shines above all else on Xbox. 343 and co. will take great care of it.
And with the coming of DX12 and cloud computing, this game and its graphics will surpass even the Order.
I can completely understand your contempt for 343 and their halo game right now, I feel very similarly, however, 343 did prove they can do character development in a video game, if they can make the rest of the campaign tolerable this time around, I’ll be happy.

So negative and trollish. Just don’t buy the game is all I can say if you already so cynically bias and expect failure. What’s wrong with gamers these days.
I get that it’s hard to separate contempt for 343 from contempt for Halo, but try just the same. The sins of the father are not the sins of the son. And anyway, Halo 4 was a great game. Okay, let me have it…
Halo 5 will destroy Black Ops III, just you wait, OP.
Expanding the story is milking?
Oh. So story telling is bad. Ok.
I wonder if Certain Affinity is helping with Halo 5’s multi-player as they did with Halo 4. They even helped develop some CoD games.
The competitive multiplayer in the MCC has been really -Yoink!- me off lately for so many reasons, so I can understand your skeptisim for Halo 5 but having played the beta I assure you Halo 5 is a strong step forward for the series.
I approve of this message.

Someone is going to be disappointed…

And that someone is you when you find out Halo 5 is going to be the -Yoink!-
Yep. You really can’t blame anyone for not liking 343
I just opened a fresh bag of Doritos(I know that really doesn’t make any sense because Doritos are processed garbage and are anything but fresh). Now it is time go and get my frosty Mt. Dew can out of the freezer.
After that I am going to read about the new Halo Online game that is being released only in Russia. I know this is going to be hard for you guys to believe but the Halo Online game isn’t made by 343 either. So isn’t that like 7 Halo games in a row not made by 343?

I too am excited for Halo 5. They’re really switching things up, keeping things fresh
It reminds me of when CTTR was newest installment in the Crash Bandicoot series. People really seemed excited for the game, and Crash was getting a lot of publicity for the first time in a while! There were skeptics back then as well, but we shooed those naysayers away with great malice! Rest assured, we had the game all to ourselves!
…The series has been dead since 2008

There are less abrasive ways of making this point.
