Why I can no Longer Play Halo 4

There are many good and bad things about Halo 4 but I am focusing on the the negatives in this thread.

First of all, I would like to start off with the campaign. What’s up with Master Chief talking so much? I don’t recall John speaking so much in Halo 1, 2, and 3 combined. My second complaint about the campaign are these new enemies called the prometheans. I mean seriously, new enemies? Haven’t we been fighting the covenant since CE? I did not buy Halo to shoot at robot aliens. The story was also not widespread enough for me. I don’t appreciate the strange relationship going on between Chief and Cortana. Sure it’s the first Halo to ever have much character development, but who cares? I didn’t even play the stupid campaign. I decided not to after I found out there wouldn’t be a warthog run on the final level. Didn’t 343 learn from Bungie’s mistake in Reach?

Now to Spartan Ops. It almost makes me sick to think that Spartan Ops would replace Firefight. We’ve had Firefight since Halo: ODST. 343 HAD NO RIGHT TO TAKE AWAY FIREFIGHT! I don’t want story driven gameplay, with intelligent AI, and new episodes every week. I WANT TO -Yoinking!- GRIND XP ALL DAY ON FIREFIGHT. Thanks 343, for taking out a totally original game type and replacing it with something tired and rehashed.

Least and last, there is the “competitive” multiplayer. If you can even call it that now as the community has been poisoned with COD trash. Just yesterday I was playing with a guy who seemed a decent human being. We played a few customs and I added him to my friends list. The next day I saw him get online and hew was playing -Yoinking!- COD. Now I don’t blame the kid, the class system and ordinance drops obviously compelled him to this new Halo game. But after this incident, I’m not even sure if I’m playing Halo 4 or Call of Duty: Halo Trash.

So I beg of you Bungie, please come and save us. Halo is not Halo anymore :frowning:

IF you don’t like it, don’t play it.

We people are so tired of you people, obviously you need to read up and learn your information.

Bungie had 10 years, and 10 years only. They’re done, now it;s 343’s turn to shine.

And they’re doing a pretty damn good job.

Is this entire thing a jab at the people that complain about the game or something?

Cause if it isn’t, this is probably the worst argument I have heard yet.

How can you judge the campaign before you even played it?
First you talk about how “bad” it is, then claim you haven’t played it.
0/10

The covies is one of the 1st things that bored me out of reach. 2nd does it really matter that MC talks or not? We got a ghost run you hear an awesome ghost run with jumps to jump, grunts to splatter and walls closing on you.

Firefight was boring no offence to anyone it just was there rarely used. Spartan Ops has story 100s of enemies and feels like MP but also feels like campaign.

Call H4 CoD all you like but all this “CoDish” stuff is in every successful FPS.

Edit: Most of Bungie joined 343 anyway.

And i’m tired of people like you who jumped on the bandwagon at reach and think you have a valid opinion on games.

YouTube videos are all I need. I’m sure the controls will be just as bad as the graphics.

Is the original post a joke? And i’m being serious

I just noticed… Pinacles avatar is Halo 4 related this proves that chances are high that this is fake, unless you really like your spartan.

My spartan is -Yoink!- and knows it.

Chief is talking so much to try and keep Cortana’s rampancy down
Halo 2 didn’t have a Warthog run either so I lol at your post
They aren’t robot aliens, they are Forerunner AIs. If they were robot aliens, then Cortana would follow.

Firefight was Bungie’s thing and every other big name company under the sun had their own version of it. (Zombies, Horde, etc)So they are trying to be original.

Multiplayer is all opinions, there is no right or wrong

And Bungie didn’t want to do Halo anymore, so they gave it up.

Actually, I agree some and disagree some of the OP’s complaints.

Yea abt Master Chief talking abit too much, I was kinda shocked at first. Don’t know why, but he seemed to lose some of his “coolness” due to his more frequent speech.

New enemies I find it cool. After all, I don’t want to fight the Convenant forever in Halo -.- Prometheans are a good foundation for Halo 5 and 6, as it’s a new species.

The story I felt it was of acceptable length. Longer than Halo: Combat Evolved at least. (or maybe the same?) The way I see it, 343 will make Halo 4’s story the shortest of the reclaimer trilogy, Halo 5 the longest and Halo 6 mid length, kinda like the stories of Halo 1 2 and 3. Prob Halo 5 and 6 will see the return of the Arbiter.

Again, like the Covenant complaint, if there’s a warthog to “run” at the end of each campaign, I would find it even more boring as its repetitive. 343 tried a different approach. I don’t think Bungie did a warthog rush at the end of Halo 2. If I rmb it was a boss fight with the Gravity Hammer Brute (wat i call it).

For multiplayer, I was actually slightly disappointed with the requirement of hdd space. I have a 4GB Xbox 360 Slim, and I had to format (erase everything) an external hdd to use it for the multiplayer. The problem is that the multiplayer is too Xbox Live inclined, and not local-friendly. In previous Halos, u could play the various multiplayer modes local and online, (firefight?) but for Halo 4, I was using my usual local account (not Xbox LIVE), and I felt let down to see after I went to install Infinity on my HDD, all the three options of Spartan Ops said “Requires Xbox LIVE Gold” or sumth like that. The war games I could only play Custom game - this was ok.
The Custom game types were also average in variety. I dunno but based on my feelings or intuitions or whatever, reach had more game types (no evidence cos I didnt count, maybe Halo 4 had more).
I also kinda miss headhunter and firefight, as once again, for firefight I can play local with my bro and neighbor. I thought in Halo 4, 343 would combine all previous modes + new modes to create the ultimate Halo, but I guess they’ll add it back in future maybe?

The COD thing I don’t even get it it looks irrelevant to me. What others play is their own business lol. Even if the guy plays COD it doesnt mean he dislikes Halo 4 -.- I don’t even know how OP came to the conclusion that this makes Halo 4 Call of Duty??

All in all, 343 still did a great job on their first original Halo game. Graphics are amazing, left me stunned… Interface is also cool.

EDIT: Yea I was hoping a boss fight with Didact at the end too.

Please stop spreading these lies. The number of people that went from Bungie to 343i can be counted on one hand.

OP is a casual gamer who should invest in Black Ops 2.

Pretty sure the op was being sarcastic.

> Halo 2 didn’t have a Warthog run either so I lol at your post

This is what made CE a step above Halo 2.

> OP is a casual gamer who should invest in Black Ops 2.

I’m too busy playing Halo Combat Evolved on my PC.

That was a lie! I’m shocked at my mistake!

Successful troll is annoying and no where near funny.

You don’t need to justify it to us, just simply stop playing it.
