I have always been a Playstation customer. When I was in college my buddy had an Xbox and we played every Halo (while getting super high). I played every FPS on my Playstation and played COD competitively. When I finally broke down and got my Xbox, I only bought Halo 5. I still have not bought any other game. I am currently platinum 3 and have been playing for about a month.
I am in love with this game. I am so surprised to see every thread on here hating on the game. When I came to these forums I was expecting a much different community (because I thought game was amazing). I have played every Halo game now and I personally think this is the best one. Many people said Halo 5 sold less copies than any other Halo game, but you have to realize the competiton in the FPS segment is much different now. Below are my reasons i love the game. Also- yes I am prepared to get eaten alive.
the Multi-player is the best in the industry STILL
Movement is fast and fluid. Played Battlefield 1 and hated it. It’s a hot mess and confusing.
Halo has the best weapons of any game
-No other FPS has the fast pace this game does (minus Overwatch)
-I will say I do love sprint to get around the map. I hate Spartan charge though. So annoying to get charged my noobs nonstop.
Ground Pound is what it is. I’m Platinum 3 and I still barely ever get hit with them
I love clamber. I Crack up when I see people don’t like it. I mean come on people. It’s not THAT crazy
Halo does the best job of making it fair for all Multi-player people- come play COD you will see noobs get 1 shotted nonstop
-I still think the graphics are amazing in levels like Mercy and I think is an example of what is to come.
Totally agree. Glad to see some proof that yes, not everyone hates this game. If you haven’t tried infection or action sack yet, you’ve been missing out.

Halo 5 is definitely an amazing game, but it has it’s ups and downs.
Little core features not included from halo 5 - Server issues, - Arena ranking system - Firefight glitches/bugs still active with no hot fixes/patchesThe list goes on. Sure these are small minor nuisances, but added up, they can really downgrade what is such a beautiful game. I mean, I’m in Australia and cannot find games, I MUST use the expanded search preference which allows me to match up on a server from America/Mexico/Britain and so on. Haven’t even heard 343 acknowledging the countries that aren’t America. It’s basically their first preference which shouldn’t be the case for a big organisation such as 343 Industries.
I agree with about everything you said. So much fun and I’ve logged more time on this game than i did any other halo. I played the hell out of halo 1-3 as a kid and at age 31 I somehow have played H5 more. The game has its issues, but overall a great online multiplayer.

This is very weird. I play everyday (1-2 hours a day) and never have issues. In the morning I have to use balanced or expanded, but at night I can easily find focused games no problem.

As I mentioned, I am from Australia and there are much server/population issues regarding Halo 5 in Australia. Every game I play on Halo 5 except a few (Infection, Anniversary, Action Sack, Warzone Firefight) can be found on a good connection, but everything else must be played on a horrible connection and higher latency.
I hate my Xbone since the backwards compatibility update it runs at about a 1/3 to what it used to it’s so slow to the console I bought originally. Plus Microsoft edge used to block pop ups before the update as well.
Most hate on halo 5 comes from it not being the franchise they loved originally cause instead of catering for what the players want individually it’s more squashed together into one package, less options on what to do like for me the gamemodes I want don’t exist, when it comes to playing what playlist I want I normally have to settle with what ever has enough players, the longer you play the game the more you see with what is wrong with it like their is a glitch that will give you 2 kills on the same person for one kill and it’s been there since launch and the same can be said with FF the same glitches in the beta still exist. Most of the time it’s not hate just criticism like I feel the ground pound and Spartan charge are really cheap and tacked on and among other things ruins the emersion of the game. (I once got hit by a Spartan charge from some one after their body disinterested.)

Titanfall 1 and 2 want a word with you, they are faster and they have better servers by a country mile. Doom is also much faster paced than Halo 5. I agree with a good deal of what you wrote, but pace ? No, it’s quick, but nowhere near the titles I mentioned.
Funny, all of the guys who’ve played Halo with me religiously since CE have all left for Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 and mock me for playing Halo 5. I’ve since got BF1 and TF2 on download and will probably migrate since I’ve played more than enough of H5 and got my dream Mark IV armor (and then just hours later they gave it to everyone.) I’ll probably only really play Halo 5 for the Forge, which is the best its ever been, period.
Titanfall 2 is excellent too. It really stuck to what made Titanfall, Titanfall and added enough to the formula and made the unlock process much deeper. Plus Titanfall’s servers in my experience are excellent, with a focus on user experience instead of cost effectiveness. Haven’t tried BF1 yet but the beta was the most fun I’ve had in months.

Welcome to Halo. Pick up the MCC when you get a chance to play through the campaigns for the story and to see how we came to be where we are. Don’t be ashamed of your opinions or let the forum spats dissuade you from enjoying yourself.

There is rarely spawn killing and little lag. I feel your problem is where you live or your connection. Either that or you’re exaggerating.
