Why I believe joining a session in progress is terrible for Halo.

There’s an element about Halo multiplayer sessions that I really enjoy out of other games on the market. It’s the fact that I can start a game from the very beginning and not join a session already in progress.

For some, this new feature being expressed in the GI articles might be a good one. Who wouldn’t like to join a friend’s game because one teammate left previously?

However, what I really hate about most games out today IS this specific matchmaking feature. In CoD, you can start up matchmaking and begin to play a game that has multiple killstreaks in the air and the game is about to end.

I don’t want this to happen in Halo. I don’t want to join a game of CTF where I just begin to see the last flag Red team needs to win already being driven off to their base, or a game of Team Slayer where the enemy has rockets and sniper(which will now be randomly spawned in different areas of the map. facepalm) and needs 5 more kills to win. I want to play ALL my games from the VERY BEGINNING and witness the entire process of the game.

I hope we can decide whether to join a game that’s already in progress. And I hope that there is 1-50 ranking system, that’s one of the major things in deciding whether or not I will buy the game.

Just stay in that party and the next game will be from the beginning. It’s not that big of a deal.

this

And people will get killed a lot more when they spawn, just running back into the action.

I know what you’re trying to tell, and i agree.
about quitters they should get negative for quit though.

It is for those who care about their W/L ratio.

No 1-50. No choosing to join in progress or not. No way to beat up newbies because 1 or 2 people quit the game.

How about no?

People are so blinded by the bad experiences of 2v4 and 1v4 that they ignore the fact that joining mid-game is 10000000000000 times worse.

What is the major reason for people quitting? Loosing. Why should people be forced to join a game in which they are already down multiple kills?

If it is optional to join mid-game or not, no one is going to choose to join mid-game.

Man when I get paired with a quitter in team doubles that’s a challenge for me to kick 3x the -Yoink-. Not quit and cry.
