Mine got banned for that too. But, the funny thing is, all my friends and I went to one house to play for the release of the game and NO ONE used a headset to talk to people. I don’t really understand how my voice got banned when I wasn’t even talking or using a headset.
You see what happens is that usually if you’re team wins and the other team is full of pissy little 12 yr olds throwing tantrums for losing, they may have reported you for crap talking or teabagging, which is obviously total crap. BTW I’m also voice banned for a week. the voice ban only affects the in-game chat though if you haven’t tried.
Please, 343 industries, desactivate this tool. I don’t understand why you have implemented this system… I think that you are enough intelligent to know that all players can to report everything and anything…
I got that same thing tonight. I have never used a mic outside of a preset party chat over XBL. So it doesn’t really effect me in the end, but this is still a bit silly that it happened.
I have also been banned for “one week” of voice communication. Same issue where i was banned WITHOUT HAVING A MIC PLUGGED IN!! clearly 343 is filled with a bunch of idiots who thought they could trust an automated system to monitor something as serious as bans. Not only this, but its now been 3 weeks and I still have the same message that says i will be banned for ONE week. Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks for making a great game -Yoink- 343i.
This is why automated bans only work if there is someone in customer service you can contact when the system fails. In WoW if you get banned for something you didn’t do, you can contact a GM personally (usually takes a few hours), to get clarification/resolution.
It appears as though the system is easy to fool (a party of 8 people could potentially get every single person they played against mic-banned), but it is excessively difficult to actually get fixed.
I am just curious: Why does an “M” rated game ban people for strong language in the first place?
