Why Health packs are NOT NEEDED.

I’m 22, and I remember reading a magazine with my friend back when Halo 2 was coming out. The game had been delayed and there were LOADS of images of a snow hog

and pineapple grenades and whatnot (which obviously didnt make the game). We were SO excited for the game to come out, so we played Pokemon while we waited ;D!

Anyway, People (mostly new guys who don’t understand the concept of Halo very well and love REACH) seem to LOVE health packs. In the magazine, it stated in an interview with bungie that health packs were removed in HALO 2 because They were NOT NEEDED. They SLOWED gameplay, and they wanted to keep people in the fight. When your shields are DOWN, no matter what your health is, you’re going to be ‘1 shot’ from death! SO why would you need a health bar? It’s not like HALF LIFE, where you have 100% health, and you actually have a chance. Not to mention, going into a fight with lower health… your automatically at a disadvantage.

In Halo 2/3, You HAVE HEALTH, but it regenerates just like the ELITE health does in Halo reach. And it’s hidden. Not having health bars keeps the gameplay Fast, and keeps people from doing cheap tactics such as, getting their shields dropped, and Running to a health pack for an INSTANT recharge.
