Because it is the best looking map and by the looks of it, a vehicle oriented map with a gauss hog. Reach needs more vehicle oriented maps and who doesn’t want to use the gauss hog in matchmaking???

One of the better asymmetric, symmetrical maps that came out of Halo 2. Its map featured multiple levels to fight on (lolswordbase), urban environment that favored ground and aerial combat, and effective inner and outer routes to take to get across the map is legendary.

Also, no laser.

One of the best maps ever made!

I remember it being great for BTB objective games… I was lucky enough to have a large, active clan that would play often, and it was just fun to play that map together as a team.

For example, playing it on assault, you could rush with worthog, or have everyone run through the teleporters, or rush the camo/sniper route. there were a lot of different possibilities. It was just great for an attack/defend map.

This but I will add

The maps they are remaking have to at least work somewhat well with AA’s because they will eventually be DLC and be put into default Reach playlists.

Headlong was one of Halo 2’s best BTB maps, it was also a “fan favorite” and Reach lacks good maps, especially vehicle oriented ones.

They should somehow add the golden warthog IMO.

Dude Headlong is probably the only map that compares in popularity to Blood Gulch/ Coagulation in the Big Team Battle and overall Halo favorites.

Its the bets BTB map in Halo history AND will play well with Reach gameplay.

When I heard a Halo2 map was going to be in the pack, just one, I instantly thought Headlong. As said, it supports the gauss-'Hog and Banshee. It supports an attack and defense game types. It’s great as an asymmetrical slayer map for BTB or ranged combat for smaller matchups, especially snipers. And when you add AAs to the mix, it can only get more dynamic.

It’s why I was also hoping for Prisoner. I also thought it would work great with and without the AAs. Jetpack doesn’t break the map, the catwalks make jetpackers easy assassination and sticky targets. It’ll be like shooting chickens in a hen-house.

I really do hope for a nightish level sometime. Penance is nice for some darker toned contrasts. And I do realise that there are a few with space as the backdrop as well. But some that captures Backwashes’ intent is my hope now. I enjoyed the night levels and the hive on ODST, would like to have a type for Halo’s MP.

Headlong is greatness in the form of a Map

Such a diverse map, it’s good for vehicles, distance, close quarters, and the multiple stories just make it plain, freaking awesome…
