Why Haven't Prefect and Ricochet Returned?

Im curious why those two armors didn’t return from Halo 4.

Not sure about Prefect, but my guess is that the Ricochet armor was not in Halo 5 since the game mode did not make a return.

Perhaps the designers overlooked them. Prefect was an interesting armor set, hopefully for HI it will return.

Actually, Ricochet (the game mode) IS in Halo 5.

I think that version of Ricochet you’re implying was a custom gamemode, not an official one.

I believe due to the sets never worked when you launched Spartan Ops but I could be wrong

Except Mark V (and technically ODST in the form of Nighfall) from Halo 4 returned, which also couldn’t be used in Spartan Ops. The reason the DLC armor, weapon skins, support upgrades, and tactical packages couldn’t be used in Spartan Ops was because, if i recall, an update had to be added to the War Games maps that would allow you to see the new content. Its possible that doing these changes to the Spartan Ops maps just werent possible. Of course, this problem was fixed in Halo 5, which is why DLC armor / weapons can be used in PvPvE/PvE situations (Warzone/ Warzone Firefight).

Good question. As others have said, Ricochet probably didn’t make it because the Ricochet game mode didn’t come back, but I have been wondering why they chose to bring back the not-so-great looking Infiltrator, instead of something halfway decent like Prefect, or even Vanguard or gen2 Hazop. I’m not the biggest fan of Prefect because its helmet looks too much like an old CRT television, but it’s much better than Infiltrator if you ask me.

Also wondering why they replaced Oceanic with Mako, for the underwater-themed armor. Oceanic was cool and Mako is just weird :thinking:
