It’s so sad. Such a great game just left to die with no support from anyone.
Games like Halo 3 should be looked after by developers. 343 should get a team together to take care of it, bring some old players to back and get H3 up to standard.
Why has this been allowed to happen to one of the best 360 games ever made? It’s a damn shame.
Because the game doesn’t bring any money for the studio anymore. Simple and unfair. It’s all about business nowadays…
The game is almost six years old. The public’s attention will wan after a while. Most have moved on and only come back for nostalgia. Sorry.
Check your facts before you make a broad statement. I play Halo 3 almost daily and Lone Wolves and Team Slayer’s populations oscillate anywhere from 500-1000 depending on the time of day. That gives a majority of Halo 4’s playlists’ populations a run for their money. I don’t really feel the lack of dev support hurting my experience playing though, to be honest. I’ve only run into a handful of cheaters.
Yep I dont have numbers but in overall: You get money when ppl buy the game, map packs and if there are many enough willing to buy. Then you might get money from sponsors or advertiser or some other interest group like them. Those interest groups are usually interested in games that are popular (have lots of gamers). Sad but true H3 don’t have many players anymore. -> Not enough ppl to download new stuff, keep the “game alive and pouplar”.
I wrote the description as short as I could. I hope you get the point. I love H3 and it is the best halo game so far IMO but it just doesn’t bring enough money for the studio anymore so it has been left to “rest”.
That’s how I see the situation. Pls prove me wrong and wider my mind-set if you think otherwise
how many people still play halo 3 daily again? the people with low gamerscores and a library full of outdated games from 08 that still bother to renew their gold membership? also what happened to that consolidation? i’m sorry but halo 3 will never be popular again

I also would like to know the pops. The last time I played, a bunch of playlists were at 0, including SWAT, MLG, and Action Sack. A darn shame.
-Yoink- man, I play H3 everyday and will continue to until servers go down. I don’t see myself purchasing another “Halo” game, since 343’s look at the future seems way to similar to COD instead of the roots of halo itself. If anyone would ask me, I’d be down to repopulate this game. It’s a pure masterpiece. I don’t care about the marketing, I don’t care about the income. The least they can do is keep servers up and if generous add in some updates here and there, maybe Double EXP weekend.
Anyways, Halo 3 will be the best Halo game I believe. Halo 4 was a huge disappointment and Reach, well I expected that to fail. And with Bungie going towards Destiny, I might take a shot at that. Who knows. Maybe PC gaming? But in all reality, Halo 3 is one of the only shooters I still regularly play. Other than that, it’s Castle Crashers and Fifa baby!

It has been about business since the very first video game, what kind of business doesn’t care about money seriously lets be real here guys.

Depends from who’s perspective you see the situation. Many small bands don’t care business as much as the music itself in music industry. In addition, many organisations like the religious ones don’t try to make money but spread their religion.
And what comes to gaming industry: We still have lots of good indie games and some people make games as a hobby and then they put the game online for us to enjoy. Many of them don’t seek any profit but enough money to keep going. With the word business I meant making profit as much as possible and in every way possibe. If it’s all about the profit you don’t care things some people might enjoy. And you don’t care even if the game made a bit profit if it doesn’t make profit enough.
Pls see things wider.
edit: forgot to mention, I just watched a show where some game developers told about their beginning in gaming industry. It started as a funny hobby and lasted as such for couple years. Their fisrt games didn’t make any profit nor they were seeking for such. Now they make small video games and earn enough for their living.
