Really, reading the replies to this thread, I see some people who defend sprint with “It’s in the lore” or “I feel like a super soldier” turn around, and say lore shouldn’t affect game play mechanics. So what really is the benefit of sprint? What makes it good? There are many ways to emulate speed but without the downsides of sprint. What is the reasoning of having sprint besides every modern shooter having it, since CS:GO and Doom would disagree.
EDIT: Ok, if you are going to reply, at least answer the question.
Lol too use to fast pace play now, they need to boost base speed to like 110-120% but I usually try to play without using sprint cause I like being ready to shoot. I’m addicted to this game as it is right now cause it’s so balanced. Hopefully there’s a H3a that has this kind of weapon balance with the fast base speed…
Sprinting is a really strange concept to some yeah. And it’s the same people over and over asking for it to be taken it. They say it “doesn’t work” in halo because they can’t shoot at the same time. Sprint doesn’t work wah, Sprint doesn’t work wah. We call know your views guys who post on every sprint topic with a copy pasted reply.

I can’t even understand what you’re trying

No, its how it affects game play and map design that’s a problem.
to say.
So at any moment I can move faster than I was. - I think it’s more fun.I don’t think I need anymore reason than that.
I’ve always wanted sprint in Halo, but both previous attempts (Reach, H4) didn’t balance it properly. I’d be against it in H5 too, if they hadn’t done such a good job of making it work.
Sprint adds something new for you to think about as a player and it raises the level of competition.
I don’t care about lore, I don’t care about past halos, in THIS game, sprint is there to give you more choices and thus more chances to outsmart your opponent. People arguing against sprint are essentially saying they want a simpler game. That’s it.
I feel like sprint is a very important aspect to this game. If you have a super suit why not use it? Without sprint there is no warzone. Big maps without sprint is just a joke. Halo 5 has to have sprint to accommodate the different game types, abilities and map sizes they have

Fair enough, ill admit it wasnt particularly constructive but when these threads pop up multiple times a week it becomes pretty tiresome writing the same stuff over and over again.
Personally i dont really see why sprint is such a big issue. So many people look as sprint being one of the defining differences between H3 and what came after. When we went from CE to H2 to introduction of dual wielding was a much bigger change (now removed thankfully) and one i was not keen on at all. I quite enjoy sprint but wouldnt care if it was removed but many enjoy sprint and would care if it was removed. I have read multiple reasons as to why its bad etc but personally dont agree with most of them as long as sprint is implemented well with abilities and level design which i think it has (mostly) in H5.
Just because someone doesnt like sprint and has technical reasons explaining why this does not make it any more valid than someone saying that they like it. Both have bought the game.

You know what truly raises level of competition? Balanced maps.
You know what single mechanic makes it the hardest to balance maps? Sprint.
So if you truly want good competition, you remove sprint. Simplicity in game mechanics leads to more balanced gameplay and maps. Would you like proof? Without forge maps, Halo Reach and Halo 4 would have been disasters.
Halo CE - Halo 3 have some of the best FPS maps ever created in any game. They were so good that we still remake them in every Halo game to date.
Halo Reach - Halo 5 have terrible vanilla maps. Halo 5 has two solid competitive maps: Truth (Midship) and Coliseum.
I enjoy sprint in the sense that it does add strategy when it comes to player decision making, but I will gladly give up that one positive for the much greater positive of more balanced maps in Halo.

Yes, but then we have people who disregard the technical reasons. Sprint causes more problems than it’s worth. Scrap it, increase movement speed, increase FOV, and bam, you feel like you are moving fast.

Please, tell me how you outsmart your opponent with sprint.

So… stop pegging the joystick? And besides, on Truth, at full sprint speed, you will still get across the map in the same amount of time as you would have back in Halo 2, something like 9 seconds.
I don’t have anything against fun, it’s subjective, I can’t argue subjective reasoning.
