there cool there a good way to show off to unaware enemys
Where are you seeing the hate for these?
They’re one of the coolest additions to the game.
I personally don’t like them too much because they’re just over the top finishing moves.

So are things like armour/colour customisation

I take it you get assassinated on a regular basis then.
Assassinations are class man, anybody who dislikes them are clearly insane.

Assassinations are great.
If you don’t like them then simply press the beat down button instead of holding it morons!

Snickerdoodle
you know full well that’s a saying that’s been used since the dawn of time. He never meant it as a sexist remark, clearly.

There’s simply no point of them in Halo. Sure, they look cool (I suppose), but really all they do is slow the game down.

Logical, man I couldn’t be bothered throwing out hundreds upon hundreds of words when I could just reply with a few, and to reply to this post
your controller is the problem not the game, I beat down if I want to do it fast by tapping and assassinate when I want to be a little cheeky.
So yeah your whole ‘‘argument’’ you just wrote has huge holes, if a game play mechanic had a problem then you wouldn’t be the only player to notice it.
While they do look good i find the animation happens all the time for me no matter if i press or hold the button, i just want a simple backsmack and be on my merry way, not spend a few seconds going through the motions only to end up dying straight after just because im stuck in a animation i do not want to be in.
I see it as a gimmick and hope it is not in Halo 4 unless there was a way to toggle off the animation in settings or something that is win-win as far as i am concerned.

well if you take out all that pointless -Yoink- from the game, maybe there’d be enough space on the disk to add something a little more useful?
Assassinations will stay, there’s no reason to knock them out, but a toggle on/off switch would be a great idea, because I’ve noticed the same problem many of you have.
However, no one better knock on the Armory. Customization of your character is a big part of what attracts people to keep playing a video game. In fact, I would say expanding on the Armory and making it far more in depth would be the second most important thing that needs to change from Reach to 4, second to story of course.
