Why Has The Standard For Good Clips Gone Down???

Back in the day and Leading Up to Halo 5(Before Warzone) a Good and Decent Clip was something you earned and took skill to develop and achieve is something we all halo players should agree on. But Lately the community has come to think these high kill Medals(Killamanjaro’s, Killpocalypse’s, etc.) on gametypes like Flood, Warzone, and BTB Objective are of the rarity, take skill and take presence over kill medals(Overkill, Killtrocity, etc. or a sick triple or of the same kill medal scale) On more original skilled and competitive styled game types. It doesn’t take skill to sit in a corner with a shotgun or of any other weapon in flood to kill an enemy with no shields… In warzone it doesn’t take skill when you have enemies distracted focusing more on the objectives, both MPC’s and Bases. Not To Mention Over Powered Weapons that you can spawn in the game. Before warzone there was always BTB which back before Halo 5 it was considered to be the place where the not so skilled players went to play without having to worrying about getting knocked around and killed every second and feel like a bad player. So when seeing clips with high medal sprees on BTB it wasn’t considered to be all that great of a clip and less praised. Why have we turned for the worse. I and other players who play those competitive Skill based game types shouldn’t have to grind these less skilled based game types to gain the recognition for the sweet clips we achieve because you’ve been playing call of duty for the majority of your gaming career or are under the age of 15 and don’t understand what skill really is.

Still better than the lame “[insert name here] ASSASSINATED BY [insert clan name here]” screenshots that dominated the file share in Halo: Reach.

So I take it you don’t understand what skill really is then?

so If I " camp" in warzone with a shotgun and get 20 kills I don’t have skill but if I “camp” with a shotgun in Team Arena and get a killing spree I has skill? This basically describes your post to me lol.

So what is skill then O superior one?

Shameless plug

I do agree though, I always see clips of very basic things.

I, and the rest of Bacon Gaming approve this message lol. Seriously though, I remember all of the amazing montages back in H1-H3 days… people doing competitive custom montages, ranked MM, hitting Killtacular’s/Overkill’s, Exterms, Kill sprees, nice sticks and no-scopes… having some cool music sync’d up.

Nowadays, most people don’t even take the time to sync up their music! They just lump DVR clips together, unedited in some cases (I have seen these montages), one after another with music running, no flare or style… with just some generic beat/electronic music running over top. It’s just disorderly and lazy. No personality…

dZ x TheOwnly H2-M2

This was one of my favorite montages back in the H2 days… a montage that inspired me to make my own and want to get better at the game. We need more of this within the community!

Well skill hasn’t gone down at all. Skill has either stayed the same or has gone up but what you were describing was some stuff in the old days. You are comparing H1-H3 to Halo5 which is is completely different. Also gotta note those days the community was larger than it is right now. The way the people edit in H5 days may not be your style but it’s probably their style as they are the ones who picked “some generic beat/electronic music” in their videos.

Still better than when I found somebody on XboxDVR who recorded Halo 5 clips WHEN THEY GOT A HEADSHOT.

Firstly why does this affect you…

Secondly it is their triumphs, don’t knock them down; if you.want Halo to grow… Allow the players to grow…

I’d say clips should vary from multikills, snipes/snapshots, clutch plays, ninjas etc.

The clips most people get are against like skilled players in ARENA so that shouldn’t be the issue, though WARZONE is a pet peeve with REQ spamming… BTB is fine.

Built in DVR happened. Back in the day you had to question whether you were good enough to justify spending upwards to $200 on a capture card before you could make clips.

Jeez OP. I’m sorry. Heck I’m sorry you even have to share the same oxygen as us lowly casual players. Maybe I’ll be as cool as you someday but until then enjoy this clip:
AR Dance Fever

That went south real fast.

First off, nice wall.

Secondly wow you are a huge jerk.

And finally, you clearly don’t know what skill is…

Great objective runs in BTB, killing twenty zombies constantly coming at you while all you have is a shotgun that can fire five times before reloading, killamanjaros, and plenty of other stuff takes a lot of skill.

BTB is not for people who suck, it’s for people who want vehicular gameplay on large maps instead of small, infantry focused maps. Seriously how much of an -Yoink- does someone have to be to think BTB is only for people who suck? I may not be an active member in the toxic community we call the competitive side but I know plenty who do and they love BTB.

I’m reporting you for flaming because you’re basically insulting a ton of people because you’re definition of skill is one you created and are using it to psuedo attack others.

What may be average to one person is a once in a lifetime stunt to another.

Such as this sloppy overkill I got.Or taking down all these zombies in close quarters as LMS.

Or another time I got Lord of the Flies and Plague Ravager in Infection.

Sorry you’re so high and mighty and on a throne we can’t begin to kick you off of.

For a member of a Spartan Company that “have Casual Gamers to Esports Competitive Teams in Games like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Halo,” you seem rather intolerant of casual gamers.

I dunno about you, but I only take clips of stuff I genuinely found funny or awesome. One of my only clips is a freakish reversal involving a man-cannon and a ground-pound.

One of my greatest clips was back in MCC; an amazing grenade throw… that hit my teammate and killed him.

Funniest thing I’ve ever done in a video game.

Blah blah blah skill
blah blah blah competitive
blah blah blah whaaaaaahmbulance
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

im sorry OP. The game modes are meant for having fun, and getting these “skill” 'medals mean a lot even in these so called non-competitive game types. If I got a killtrocity, or even an overkill, I’d be very pleased.

Oh and it still takes skill, regardless of how you measure it.

What a “sweet clip”
