So when Halo 5 came out I had been able to rack up headshots and perfect kills over and over (I play a lot of SWAT). Well for the past week or so I haven’t been able to hit the broad side of a barn. What is even weirder is that I still hit every shot on an enemy until their shields get downed, then I miss every shot like a lighswitch. Were there any setting changes in the new update that might affect this? Have you guys had similar issues and if so what have you done to fix it? I really want to be able to do well in Halo matches again. Thanks!
Settings wise the game has improved (controller settings). However, the servers have been very bad recently. The first month the game was out, 1 out of 10 or 20 games was laggy. Now your lucky if 1 out of 10 games is a fair connection.
It’s happening to me now… I finished in the top of the leaderboard in most games Warzone + Arena when I first got the game and now my aim is off and slow and I spam my shots too much. It’s weird.
I have to agree with the latency issue, many a match i see someone teleporting all over the map. Some games i can do great, head shots for days. Other games nothing seems to land.
Iv had the same thing the last few days
Yep I just started having issues after this last update
I thought I was just having a bad gaming day. I guess not. I usually finish near the top of every game, but lately I’ve found myself going negative in arena. I have only played warzone this week due to this. Again, I thought I was just having a bad gaming day lol

I agree that something weird is going on. I find people sponge the shot massively now and grenades don’t do much damage - sometimes don’t even explode. In terms of aiming, it’s like being held in suspended animation.
I’ve played only a few today and I’m sick already. Sick of spongers, sick of being shot when I’ve already found cover, sick of feeling like I’m fighting my own reticle to put it where I want it!
This update has made a game that was starting to feel good again, feel bloody awful!
I’m in the uk btw.
Its all in your head spartans, shake it off, and get back in there.

The trick to aiming is to not aim. Stop moving your right thumbstick, let the aim assist do the work for you. Once you’re locked on, the left stick is what you use for horizontal movement… the right stick should only be for vertical movement unless the player thrusts. If he strafes, you strafe WITH him. Get the first 4 shots in, then just lightly flick the right thumbstick so that your cursor moves up a bit to the head area.
The exception to that is of course if you use 1 or 2 sensitivity, then it’s slow enough for precision aiming on the right thumbstick. And now that you can set acceleration to 5, they are finally viable.
And in answer to your question, no nothing’s changed settings-wise. There are MORE settings now, but all your settings will remain the same as you’ve always had.
The servers are a bit worse now then they were at launch, and that can certainly make shots less consistent, however in that regard it should be mentioned: the more you move the right stick during a battle, the more you will feel the inconsistency of bullet registration on a bad host. That’s because every movement you make will be a bit delayed for the server, so when you aim to the right, your opponent can actually already be strafed a bit to the left, which maximizes the range of error & thereby makes bullet registration far more unpredictable. By keeping your cursor more stationary, the maximum distance that a bullet can miss by is reduced (eg. instead of a range of 0-1m off, you would have a range of -1 to 1m off), to the point where bullet magnitism should be able to compensate for most networking issues.

This happened to me when I moved my xbox into a different room with a different (larger) TV. I was so terrible that I had to move it back to my home office and connect up to a PC monitor again.
So, this never happened to me yet. Sorry that I can’t help you guys.
Honestly I found myself on the losing end of BR fights because I swear the enemy fired faster than I could pull the trigger.

Yeah, either your TV has a larger delay or your wireless signal sucks in that room. Very common, though I would hope that the OP would have mentioned if he had recently changed his setup.
You might be able to reduce the TV delay (if that’s the issue) by messing with some settings though (in particular, turn off any extrapolated “120hz” [it’s not actually 120hz] nonsense). If it’s the wireless, you can either move your wireless router, switch to wired, add an extra router or mayyyyybe change channels.

I’ve tested this in custom games with a friend and hairpin triggers definitely provide a very very small-but-still-noticeable advantage for the BR’s fire rate. Not so much because it’s actually faster, but because the delay between shots is more consistent. I think it’s just the culmination of subconscious delay on pressing the regular trigger that causes it (eg. laziness/fatigue), you could likely get the same result with a few redbulls.
As of lately it seems I can’t buy a kill. I lost my aim, I’m losing every match. It seems nothing I do is going the way I want it too. Many times I’ve wanted to quit but I hung in there only to get killed over and over again. I love this game too much just to stop playing.I I’ve stopped playing for a few days just to see if I needed to break away from it but that didn’t help.
I’ve been feeling this for months my best games where in the 1st month of release I managed to play warzone assault and not dye at all a few times and had quite a few close calls.
I think it’s partly to do with aim being inconsistent but I think it’s also to do with the lack of animation that is becoming more frequent at large distance an enemy can move a wart hogs length and 0-3 frames of movement might be shown and at close range the become invisible.
Any 1 got any tips on how to spot lag switching?
Same here, i’m usually a mid diamond player (last season I hit low onyx!) and I can’t seem to get a feel for the aiming. I couldn’t hit water if I was shooting into the ocean. But could be all in my head but it just doesn’t feel right, right now.
I honestly change my controller settings 4-5 times a day when I play. Took me a while to figure it out, but I run 4-3 in a arena and pistol starts WZ Assault, switch to 6,2 for BTB and BR’s in WZ Assault, I will run 4-5 for Breakout, and sometimes 3-5, or 1.5,5,5 for pistol activities. 6,2 feels a lot better for BR’s. This all helps with aim.
I just chalk it up to server issues man… My aim will be on for like 2-3 games then the next game starts and it goes completely out the window and enemies start skipping around/eating shots.
Idk… hopefully they fix these server problems. It wasn’t ever this bad in the early months.
When I’m tense, forget it. Relax and it comes back.
Holy necropost!!
