Why has halo changed?

The halo multiplayer has taken allot of steps back from what it use to be. They have dumbed down the game with so many AA. Even the stick layouts feel like Call of duty. The multiplayer is so unbalanced it’s not funny. BR is weak compared to DMR and they dumb down a precision Wepon like the carbine that takes skill to use and they OP a Wepon like the AR which was know for the BK noob Wepon, that you would use the first week or 2 of release if you where new to the game. When I put forth my money to buy this game I wanted a lead on from Halo 3 not a lead on from halo reach. And the AA, why should I have to use a certain specialization so the noob with Promeathian vision does not see me? When you use Promeathian vision you easily got a huge advantage to have the first shot. And stuff like active camo should come in their so called Wepon drop, IMO it should spawn on the map like every other halo game had.

Too accomodate the “casual” players

Brave post brother, prepare you’re flame shield. You will be getting aload of fanboys gunning for you any second.

Every word in your post is true. I was planning to say the same thing but in a more negative way but thank you. They should really take note of this comment.

> Too accomodate the “casual” players

Correction: Because the Arena Shooter format is dated and ancient.

Where is UT? Quake? The former giants of the FPS?

Dead.

I must warn you. Opinions are frowned upon here. That is a complete understatement.

In you’re opinion

I like the AR buff myself. It would have been better if the game was still AR start but o well.

AA still suck but I have a bad felling they are here to stay. I really hate that stupid jet pack.

The weapon drops I’m so so on. It’s good in some ways and bad in others.

Over all Halo has changed but I expected it to as 343 want Halo to be their baby. They don’t want to be known for just making Bungie style Halo

The assault rifle, a BK n00b weapon? Ha! It takes real skill to put that weapon to good use in Halo 3. Reach was better. Halo 4 it’s really powerful, which I like. I just wish there was no such thing as bloom in Halo. That’s what killed it. That and Armor Abilities. When Bungie put them in things went down hill.

For the most part, I agree with your post, which is why I’ve been playing more Halo 3 than 4 lately.

For the love of God, I pray 343 notices how Armor Abilities, custom loadouts, sprint, and the DMR and all that other crap are so game breaking. I don’t want a full on Halo 3 remake, but I don’t want something not close to Halo 3. I want a classic experience, but with the new and awesome look of the new game. Hopefully Halo 5 will be different, but more lenient on similarity to Halo 3.

> In you’re opinion

Your.

And no. Not my opinion.

The last pure Arena Shooter was UT3 back in 2008. Before that? If you disregard Quake Wars? Quake 4 in 2005. Tribes was rebirthed with much fanfare, to Tribes fans. Globally it didn’t make a dent in CoD’s sales let alone anyone else’s radar.

They are dead and “outdated” due to the terrible general public of gaming.
All people want these days is Call of Duty and the plague that is MMFPS (Modern Military First Person Shooter) like Call of Duty, medal of Honor, Battlefield (Which on PC is the best hands down), as well as the army of other clones.

They are dead because people still buy the same thing from the mega companies and are very single minded.
I play dozens of games each year. Indie, FPS,RTS,RPG,TPS. And all the sub genres.

Welcome to the modern world of gaming. held back by terrible consumers and ancient console hardware.

These franchises died before CoD hit it big.

:frowning: i miss the -Yoink- out of unreal tournament 3. It wasnt my favorite. But dude, it was limited fun. Like dumb -Yoink- happened all the time. I loved being creative with the teleport gun… omg, teleport on top of the map twin towers? or whatever… Then wait for someone to snipe from the top and just sit behind them until you finally got your tele pad disk under there feet then teleport to where they are and BOOM they explode. It was so much fun.

Why are you brining up games that are not relevant then?

He asked why has halo changed?

I said to accommodate “casual” gamers

Now tell me how that statement is false.

God forbid a company targets the largest audience for the largest profits.

It was only like 3 1/2 years ago when Halo 3 was still being played by tons of people on XBL. Don’t even try to give anyone that crap saying arena shooters dated and ancient.

What makes a genre of gaming dated and ancient anyways? Oh nothing does? When you said Arena shooters were outdated and ancient you were just stating your opinion? Oh ok

he stated why your halo has changed. Because its not new, or fresh. Arena style maps are nice. But, games that offered those maps historically have not done well.

its like, if people tried jumping the grand canyon on a dirt bike. So many failed. Would you be like naw man i got this im not going to change anything what so ever and do exactly what they did? No you would be like, let me see what i can do to actually accomplish this goal.

competitive gameplay died off in halo 3 anyway.

This guy knows whats up.

Halo 3 had a solid player base for years.

Reach didn’t, halo 4 probably won’t either.

Why? because its a casual game made for people who want something different from CoD. Reaching SR 130 is possible within a few months. 5 star general took a good few years. (Barring boosting).

So stop brining up Quake and UT 3. Those games are irrelevant. This is halo, not UT.

few years? more like a day. Good god, there was actual strategy guides on how to get to 50 in team doubles in 1-2 days.

Im talking about ranking up by XP not true skill.

Hell if this game had true skill people would be 130 within a few hours.
