Im here to simply state my opinion on a few things. Like other people in the community, I am one of those who has experienced issues with this game from day one. Aside from the beta which was perfect, I feel less and less compelled to play this game. I feel like I have to relearn the game everytime I get on and its rather frustrating and I am not sure what to do. Any tips? Ive tried fixing and messing around with the aiming and button layouts and whatnot but I feel that there is a more underlining problem that no one can see. Maybe the game needs a little more aim assist and bullet mag Idk.
Your thoughts?
Halo hasnt been a problem until Halo 5 and I feel something went wrong whenever they brought Ghost and Bravo on to “help” with their aiming and game and “professional” tips to make the game better and enjoyable. I feel that there are too many tryhards and they make the game unplayable to for me. To me Halo 5 is too competitive and it will only turn more people away. I feel Halo 6 is a lost cause because I feel 343i cant step up and make a game that EVERYONE can enjoy.
Hence why Halo 5 population is lower than Halo 4’s.
It really doesn’t make much sense to complain about a competitive game being too competitive.
Especially with how open and transparent 343 was with the intent on Halo5 coming back to e-sports glory

“with the intent”. They failed at it however (what a surprise). Yeah there is a lot of prize money in the tournaments, more than there has ever been, but just look at the crowds for example. I watched the finals at the X Games and there was no more than 10 people sat watching. Compare that to the old MLG days of Halo 2/3, or the sold out arenas for LoL.
I’m calling maybe recency bias? H3 was just as hard for me. Perhaps reach and four just made the game too easy and people are now wondering why they aren’t owning in every game of big team anymore?
Just a thought.

I was a 39 in Halo 3 though that doesnt mean anything but I havent had issues in past Halo until now and I dont know why
Heh. I played like s**t in Halo CE and 2 with MCC. In Halo 5 i am quite good , how about that? I can’t believe OPINIONS exist!

But they do and they are neither right or wrong.
No offense to anyone who does this but I never understood why everyone quivers in their pants about halo being esports. I guess in reality it’s no different than watching a basketball game. However, I find it utterly boring watching a bunch of other people play a game when I could be playing it myself. Are those players good and have some cool things happen? Sure, but I’d much rather have myself do something cool in a game even if it takes 4-500 tries. Only time I ever watch someone play is youtube videos so i can see general strategies so i don’t get bent over every game.
I cant put my finger on it. I used to really enjoy BTB in the other games.
But the other day I was playing on the Standoff remake. I would respawn near one of the sides, but before I could run anywhere for cover I was getting longshotted by a BR. In seconds I was dead before I had any chance to return fire, and it suddenly came to me that I wasn’t enjoying it. Is it down to the time to kill? Maybe it’s just because i don’t play as much?
Now I primarilly play SWAT because i feel its the least changed game type.

SWAT hasn’t been the same for me since 4. Being a player who first did MP on Reach, the DMR has always been my clutch weapon and nothing else besides the AR and Magnum. Now I only really enjoy and preform well in SWATnums - I just get thrashed in SWAT with the BRs. Is it my playstyle, the fact I don’t enjoy the BR and hate it, or just that it’s a weapon I avoid? I don’t know. Always feels like my death is from an Recon BR from halfway across the map, Arena or Warzone 95% of the time

Well that is curious because your sevice record says your highest H3 rank was 33 and that is the same highest rank as I achieved and I can assure you that I was and am NOT good.
also according to that same service record you have not played H5 AT ALL.
so what exactly are using to reference your OP?
Halo, when implemented properly, has always been unforgiving and hard as stink (at least to me) and that’s why I love it.
I can tell you that recently I’ve been playing MCC a lot more than Halo 5 and that everything there feels smooth. Halo 5, with all of its “improved movement”, feels extreamly clunky. It feels like you are fighting the game the entire time you are playing and that makes playing it not fun.

I was a 39 in Lone Wolves in Halo 3. I use another account from this because I play a lot with my buddy, I dont own an Xbox One so I play his which he doesnt mind.
I think it’s have something to with the aiming system. Feels like I’m fighting against aiming entire time

So why did you have issues getting to 50 in H3? Or at least getting out of the 30’s if it was so much easier than H5?
you see this is my problem with these posts, you all forget that the best halo’s (my opinion) were always competetive. It’s just that people lose a few games in a row and try blaming the game, teammates, ranking etc, instead of remembering how hard the old halo games were.

The aiming even after the update is still messed up and I think it is at the core and no update will ever fix it

because my rank was locked in at 39, unless you forgot it did that in Halo 3. Sure I tried to push for 50 but I knew I wasnt going to get there, that I already knew. Sadly sure the older games were competitive but at least they were also fun and enjoyable to play and that people werent forced to play a specific game style.

I started in 3, so I’m quite partial to the BR for SWAT, though i do enjoy the DRM when i can.

If my memory serves me correctly, You only got rank locked if you stayed at that rank for too long, as in, not getting a sufficient run of wins in a row within a lot of games to rank up.
Regardless, you obviously found it tough to break out of the 30’s even using numerous accounts, so I think my point may be valid.
I personally still have as much fun as I did in H3 (maybe because I’m used to being beat lol) and I’m having more fun than I did in reach and H4.
Also, nobody forces me to play any different style than I ever have (I’m still a campy scrub)
in fact the only game that encouraged me to play a specific gamestyle (even though I refused) was H4 where to get to the top of a leaderboard or to rank up you were encouraged to sprint in and trade kills over and over. regardless if you had 40 deaths, if you managed say 20 kills, as long as you had more kills than others you’d be classed as the best and then rank up. What a joke that was.
perhaps if you got your own console and copy of the game your view may be different but then again it may not.
