Was that supposed to convince me that Halo 4 shouldn’t be like Reach in any way? Because it failed.
Oh look…
A Thread complaining about Reach…
And hey, there’s Armour Lock, thankyou for bringing it to the table…
We’ll put it next to the thousands of others your Neanderthal-like friends brought…
Seriously, if your only point to prove was that you’re a tool, you succeeded…
But I’m going to assume you thought you were blowing minds and shattering realities with this little Revelation, so unfortunately, you failed…
Better luck next time, bring more cowbell…
P.S. I clearly need to give this place a break…
Why bring up armor lock? I read about it enough people complaining about them not being quick or smart enough to beat it in the halo reach threads, let it die there PPLLEEAASSEE!!
OMG again with the hate about armor lock there is nothing wrong with it you just step away from them wait till they start flashing at the end then throw a grenade under thier feet then headshot them with…i dont know…A PISTOL then all is good also if you have a ghost again stay back circle around them while shooting at them again all good. people like you need to get out of you little moth syndrome and learn glowing means death

The fact that you have to wait it out is bad enough. It’s stupidly easy to counter but that’s not the problem with AL.
The problem with AL is that no one likes playing the waiting game, escaping from death when you should die and if you noticed, most players who use Armor Lock are not very good at the game (Reach) and use it as a crutch when outplayed. Every. Single. Time. The worst part? The game is slow as hell for it and that’s not including running away with sprint, no bleedthrough, bloom etc.
Sure they’ll die most of the time but there are many instances where the team bails out the player, kills the player who outplayed the locker and gets off with nothing but a scratch. To me, the game is punishing skillful gun play and rewarding who can hold the left bumper/x the longest while camping yellow lift with shotty/sword on Noob Base.
Plus it slows down kill times and interrupts the flow of combat. < Main reason why it won’t be coming back and Frank O Connor used this very reason in several past articles on why it’s not coming back.
I will say that, thanks to nerfed jump and movement, it is useful for destroying vehicles and is the only compliment i am willing to ever give the AA.
However, it doesn’t belong in the future of Halo IMO. Feel free to disagree but that’s how i see Armor Lock and i am quite happy it’s been removed from the equation. The game needs to be faster, not slower.
I digress and this really has nothing to do with Halo 4 but i felt i needed to address this.

it doesn’t take that long what 3 seconds maybe also with the title update you can make it deplete faster with grenades and other explosives.
also the “most people who use armor are not very good at the game” thats not strictly true now is it.
also just like to point out if no one likes it they had during the beta and the whole time up to the Reach’s release to say that it was bad and “most people” who hate armor lock are just plain stupid.
halo 4 doesn’t have AL. bloom is nearly gone. we actually can strafe and jump now. the BR is back. AA’s look pretty balanced. and theres no jet pack in MP. its already so much not like reach. the fact that you could believe anything of the sort is just mind boggling.

I was speaking in terms of the original, non TU Armor Lock. Why? It’s the original idea. Unaltered. It has many problems and i feel in that state it just doesn’t belong in Halo. I have no problem with other people preferring it but rather how it just messes up things during combat (the other OP Armor Ability is Jetpack for different reasons). It’s five seconds for the original Armor Lock btw and five seconds is eternity in Halo.
I’ve sinked plenty of time into this game and most players who used Armor Lock are pretty bad at the game. I never said all players who used Armor Lock are bad, i said most as i’ve played with those who are quite good at the game and know how to abuse Jetpacks and Armor Lock.
The altered TU AL while still annoying, is something i can deal with rather than rage at the sheer stupidity of it. Since you can now force players out it it’s much more fair to the one who outplayed the the locker. At the same time, the user must know the new limitations and consider how and when Armor Lock should be used.
I assume most didn’t complain about Armor Lock because no one was sure how it would be in the final. It’s why we had the Beta (yes i played it) so long ago. I am pretty sure people complained about it but Bungie was going to make their game (the last Halo game for them mind you). Their way or the highway for better or for worse. People could have cried from beta to release and i highly doubt that would have changed how Vanilla Armor Lock would have functioned.

Bit iffy on the personal ordnance drops but that’s just for Infinity Slayer. I wouldn’t mind experimenting with it nonetheless. It has an…interesting scoring system and that’s a compliment. For once, maybe those who get assists can feel as though they contributed rather than put them selves down for not getting kills. This is a problem i’ve experienced in past Halos and i am pretty sure i am not alone because currently, there is no reward for getting assist beyond a medal. There needs to be more motivation to be a team player in Halo from the game. I am not saying emphasize less individual skill. I am saying it needs to be rewarded more.
Pro Vision was OP in the E3 build but that wasn’t final. Nothing to say here that hasn’t been already said.
Hardlight shield. I hope it’s not OP but it looks to have the appropriate nerfs that i would expect (explosives kill you, player slows down and can’t fire back, doesn’t last that long).
I think halo 4 will be much better then Reach
I just thought the video was funny thats all …
That did nothing but convince me to make the game even MORE like Reach!

im liking infinity slayer. everyone contributes to the team an no one feels left out. assists look like marks of shame in the past. hopefully this changes it. as for PV being OP i will respectibly disagree. but i don’t feel like arguing the same point over and over again. aparently people arnt smart enough to see the bigger picture.

I don’t know I hear H4 is going to have significantly more “side stepping” than Reach…

quit your whining, its better than reach

Or Jetpacks.
Thruster pack is more like a single use Evade than flying up and breaking maps.

Jetpack has been confirmed, sadly. =/
