I know this doesn’t have anything to do with the current halo 4 talk, but i feel like I just need to say it
Cod might be on top now, but it won’t last. It has no staying power, there’s nothing iconic about it. It’s just a generic military shooter, in 10 years cod will be replaced by another generic military shooter and halo still might not be on top but it will still be alive and thriving and it will live to see dozens of “king” military shooters go down the drain. Cod doesn’t have “fans”, people that play it, just play it for cheap dumb “fun”, they don’t care about it’s universe(there is none) or it’s community(12 year olds) they just buy it for some cheap thrills, there’s little actual hype for each game everyone knows it’s coming out and that the story is pointless, why should anyone be excited? People that buy cod are no more fans of the series then people are fans of toothbrush brands. Everybody buys them, but they are discarded immediately when something newer and cooler comes out, and THAT is why halo will be thriving long after cod is a distant memory.
HALO FOREVER
and people consider Halo as another generic sci-fi shooter.
i’ve really only heard ps3 fans say that for obvious reasons
I’ve heard many people from every area of gaming say that.
Why are you comparing Call of Duty to Halo? They aren’t similar, and Consumer/fan/player wise, It is about quality, not quantity. Halo has an o.k size community that plays that are above the immature level.
Call of Duty has a massive community the contents are immature and under-aged for these types of shooters.

Wait, did you just say that Halo has mature players?

Above immature. Doesn’t mean that that are mature.
I say 3 or 4 years, it’s been going downhill eventually they’ll try something drastic to save the series which will most likely fail, finally ending the franchise.

It would be dead now if Treyarc hadn’t kept it alive.

While yes some people do have that opinion it couldn’t be farther from the truth. Halo is one of the few popular fully realized universes in any medium today, and it’s, in many other people’s opinion, it’s just as good as star wars and star trek as far as sci-fi goes.
As for the potential showdown with Halo 4 and BO2 I think Halo will stack up well against it. The trailer reveal for BO2 didn’t do it any favors because its all ready getting heat and made fun of for looking like a Metal Gear Solid rip off. So I think CoDs going to loose some people to Halo, BF3 and maybe the new Metal of Honor game if it winds up being ok.

We’re talking about halo…Tee bag in your face doesnt exactly scream “above mature”…There is no maturity difference in halo in call of duty, call of duty is for dumb people, Halo is for people with at least Half a brain who enjoy gameplay that doesnt consist of the story ripping off major action movies, and multiplayer that doesnt consist of sitting in a dark corner a whole game waiting for someone to walk by.

Wait, so… super soldier, single handedly defeats hordes of alien attackers and saves humanity…ive seen that movie…
Just thought I’d throw it out there but your poll is wrong.
2 years(mw4)- Next year is SledgeHammer games so its gonna be a new CoD
3 years(blops 3)- MW4 Comes out after ^^^
However I reckon that Sledgehammer games’ CoD may make or break the franchise. Either they will do something different and people may like it/hate it or it could be the same old repetitive game.
Protip: When you start your post with

Then you probably shouldn’t post it. Just sayin’.
